برعاية مستشار خادم الحرمين الشريفين أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة الأمير خالد الفيصل، دشّن نائبه الأمير سعود بن مشعل بن عبدالعزيز، في مقر الإمارة بجدة، أمس، فعاليات موسم التشجير الوطني 2025 بالمنطقة، تحت شعار «يد تغرس.. وأرض تزدهر».
وأطلق، بحضور المدير العام لفرع وزارة البيئة والمياه والزراعة بالمنطقة المهندس وليد آل دغيس، ومدير عام فرع المركز الوطني لتنمية الغطاء النباتي ومكافحة التصحر عادل الطياري، الموسم بزراعة شجرة الرَّنَف المحلية، التي تمتاز إلى جانب أنها معمّرة وسريعة النمو، بأزهارها متعددة الألوان ورائحتها العطرية الفوّاحة، وتُزهر في فصل الربيع وتدوم أزهارها نحو 3 أشهر، كما تتميّز بقدرتها على تحمّل مختلف الأحوال المناخية، والنمو في البيئات الجبلية والساحلية والصحراوية.
ويتزامن موسم التشجير مع جهود البرنامج الوطني للتشجير وصولاً لتعزيز الاستدامة البيئية، وتشجيع مشاركة المجتمع في مبادرات الغرس والمحافظة على البيئة، بما يتماشى مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030، وسيعاً لتحقيق ذلك أسهمت الجهود في زراعة أكثر من 7.5 مليون شجرة بواقع 300 نوع نباتي في محافظات منطقة مكة المكرمة.
ويأتي الموسم امتداداً للجهود الوطنية الداعمة لمستهدفات مبادرة «السعودية الخضراء»، من خلال تنمية الغطاء النباتي، والحد من تدهور الأراضي، وتشجيع زراعة النباتات المحلية الملائمة، ورفع الوعي البيئي بالممارسات السليمة، وتعزيز ثقافة التطوع والتكامل بين مختلف القطاعات العامة والخاصة وغير الربحية.
Under the sponsorship of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, his deputy, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, inaugurated yesterday the activities of the National Tree Planting Season 2025 in the region at the Emirate's headquarters in Jeddah, under the slogan "A Hand that Plants... and a Land that Thrives."
In the presence of the Director General of the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture branch in the region, Engineer Walid Al-Daghis, and the Director General of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, Adel Al-Tayyari, the season was launched by planting the local Ranaf tree, which is characterized not only by its longevity and rapid growth but also by its multicolored flowers and fragrant aroma. It blooms in the spring and its flowers last for about three months. It is also notable for its ability to withstand various climatic conditions and grow in mountainous, coastal, and desert environments.
The tree planting season coincides with the efforts of the National Tree Planting Program aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and encouraging community participation in planting initiatives and environmental conservation, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. To achieve this, efforts have contributed to planting more than 7.5 million trees, comprising 300 plant species in the governorates of the Makkah Region.
The season is an extension of the national efforts supporting the objectives of the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative, through the development of vegetation cover, combating land degradation, encouraging the planting of suitable local plants, raising environmental awareness about sound practices, and promoting a culture of volunteering and integration among various public, private, and non-profit sectors.
