أقام المركز الوطني للوقاية من الآفات النباتية والأمراض الحيوانية ومكافحتها «وقاء» في منطقة نجران، ورشة عمل توعوية بعنوان «أهم الآفات التي تصيب البن»، استهدفت المزارعين في المنطقة، بهدف رفع مستوى الوعي لديهم حول آفات البن وطرق مكافحتها، وتعزيز الممارسات السليمة في زراعة هذا المحصول الحيوي.
وتناولت الورشة عدة محاور رئيسية شملت الآفات التي تصيب محصول البن، وطرق التعرف المبكر على أعراض الإصابة ورصدها، إضافة إلى استعراض أساليب المكافحة الوقائية والعلاجية للحد من انتشارها، وتعزيز الممارسات الزراعية الصحيحة للحفاظ على جودة وإنتاجية شجرة البن.
وأكد مدير مركز «وقاء» بمنطقة نجران المهندس أحمد بن علي آل زريع أن هذه الورشة تأتي في إطار حرص المركز على دعم المزارعين والاهتمام بمحصول البن باعتباره أحد المحاصيل الزراعية ذات الأهمية الاقتصادية والوطنية، مشيرا إلى أن مثل هذه الورش تسهم في تمكين المزارعين من تبني أفضل الممارسات الزراعية والحفاظ على جودة وإنتاجية البن في المنطقة.
The National Center for Plant Pests and Animal Diseases Prevention and Control, "Waqaa," held an awareness workshop titled "The Most Important Pests Affecting Coffee" in the Najran region, targeting farmers in the area. The aim was to raise their awareness about coffee pests and methods for controlling them, as well as to promote sound practices in the cultivation of this vital crop.
The workshop covered several key topics, including the pests that affect coffee crops, methods for early detection of symptoms and monitoring, as well as reviewing preventive and therapeutic control methods to limit their spread, and enhancing proper agricultural practices to maintain the quality and productivity of coffee trees.
The director of the "Waqaa" center in the Najran region, Engineer Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zurai, confirmed that this workshop is part of the center's commitment to support farmers and focus on coffee crops as one of the agricultural products of economic and national importance. He pointed out that such workshops contribute to empowering farmers to adopt the best agricultural practices and maintain the quality and productivity of coffee in the region.
