The special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, chaired the second meeting of the Supreme Supervisory Committee for the "History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques" project, which aims to build a comprehensive knowledge reference that documents the history of the Two Holy Mosques and the rituals of Hajj and Umrah throughout the ages, and records the major transformations in their service, stemming from the national interest in enhancing Islamic content and documenting the historical memory of the nation.

The project is receiving the attention and care of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, who has given special attention to the history of the Two Holy Mosques, with continuous support from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. Its idea originated as a scientific encyclopedia under the name "Encyclopedia of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques," before expanding to become a leading national initiative named "History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Project," supervised by the King Abdulaziz Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, represented by the Guests of the Merciful Program.

The meeting reviewed its agenda, which included the announcement of the launch of the forum "Historical Events in the Prophetic Biography: Visions for Research and Documentation," which is planned to be held in Medina concurrently with the Umrah Forum, and discussed the work on establishing a permanent museum for the history of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques.

The meeting also addressed the latest developments regarding the History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Forum, the ongoing preparations for the History of Hajj and the Two Holy Mosques Exhibition, and the progress of work on the project, in addition to topics related to the committee's activities.

The committee includes a selection of specialists in the fields of history, documents, and Islamic studies, namely: Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Hamid; Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa; Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Guests of the Merciful Program, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah; Member of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation and Chairman of the Studies and Publishing Committee, Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Samari; Professor of Islamic History at King Saud University, Dr. Khalid bin Abdulkarim Al-Bakr; Committee member Engineer Anas bin Saleh Sayarfi; CEO of the Guests of the Merciful Program, Engineer Mohammed Abu Al-Khair Ismail; and the General Supervisor of the project, Dr. Fahd bin Mubarak Al-Wahbi.
