كشفت بلدية محافظة رأس تنورة إنجازاتها خلال الثلاثة أشهر الماضية، لأعمال زراعة وتنسيق الأشجار والزهور، والمساحات الخضراء، في الشوارع والأحياء والميادين، والحدائق، والتي تهدف إلى تجميل المدن، وتحسين البيئة، وتعزيز الرقعة الخضراء، ودعم مبادرات التشجير الوطنية.
من جهته، أوضح رئيس بلدية محافظة رأس تنورة المهندس محمد بن جاسم الجاسم بأنه تمت زراعة 3200 شجرة وشجيرة متنوعة تشمل أصنافا من الأشجار المتنوعة، شملت عددا من الأنواع منها، «الفيكس لسان العصفور - والبونسيانا - والأكاسيا - والنيم - والجاتروفيا - والهيبسكس - والبتونيا - والترمناليا، إضافة إلى الجهنميات والصباريات»، وأيضا زراعة 6500 متر مربع من المسطحات الخضراء و23712 زهرة موسمية.

زيادة الرقعة الخضراء
وقال بأن البلدية قامت بأعمال التشجير وزيادة الرقعة الخضراء في طرق وشوارع المحافظة، تفعيلاً لمبادرة السعودية الخضراء، ومبادرة بلدية رأس تنورة «لجعل رأس تنورة خضراء»، وفي إطار جهودها الخدمية المختلفة للمحافظة وخطتها في زيادة الرقعة الخضراء وتحسين المشهد البيئي والحفاظ عليه وتجميل المحافظة، ونشر ثقافة التشجير، وأهميته في النظام البيئي ولمكافحة مصادر التلوث والحد من تأثير العمليات الصناعية، ولتحسين جودة الحیاة والمظهر العام، مما یسھم في تحقيق مفهوم أنسنة المدن.
وأشار الجاسم إلى أن أعمال زراعة الأشجار والزهور مستمرة وستشمل جميع أنحاء المحافظة، لافتا إلى سعي البلدية لتحويل محافظة رأس تنورة إلى مدينة خضراء، وذلك من خلال إطلاق حملة تشجير مكثفة لتغطية كافة الطرقات والحدائق العامة والميادين في رأس تنورة بأعداد كبيرة من الأشجار والزهور المتنوعة الأشكال والأصناف التي تضفي بعداً جمالياً على مظهر المحافظة، وترتقي بالمنظر العام للمرافق المختلفة.
The Municipality of Ras Tanura Governorate revealed its achievements over the past three months in planting and coordinating trees, flowers, and green spaces in streets, neighborhoods, squares, and parks, aiming to beautify the cities, improve the environment, enhance green areas, and support national afforestation initiatives.
For his part, the Mayor of Ras Tanura Governorate, Engineer Mohammed bin Jassim Al-Jassim, explained that 3,200 diverse trees and shrubs have been planted, including various species such as "Ficus bird's tongue, Bougainvillea, Acacia, Neem, Jatropha, Hibiscus, Petunia, and Terminalia, in addition to Bougainvillea and cacti." Additionally, 6,500 square meters of green spaces and 23,712 seasonal flowers were planted.

Increasing Green Areas
He stated that the municipality has undertaken tree planting and increasing green areas along the roads and streets of the governorate, activating the Saudi Green Initiative and the Ras Tanura Municipality initiative "to make Ras Tanura green." This is part of its various service efforts for the governorate and its plan to increase green areas, improve the environmental scene, preserve it, beautify the governorate, and promote the culture of afforestation and its importance in the ecosystem to combat pollution sources and mitigate the impact of industrial operations, thereby improving the quality of life and the overall appearance, contributing to the concept of humanizing cities.
Al-Jassim pointed out that the planting of trees and flowers is ongoing and will cover all areas of the governorate, noting the municipality's efforts to transform Ras Tanura into a green city through the launch of an intensive tree planting campaign to cover all roads, public parks, and squares in Ras Tanura with a large number of trees and flowers of various shapes and species that add an aesthetic dimension to the appearance of the governorate and elevate the overall look of various facilities.
