The culture and heritage have received significant attention from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, as they are an important element in enhancing national identity and a promising sector. The Ministry of Culture and its agencies have implemented initiatives aimed at preserving heritage and promoting the cultural identity of the Kingdom, as well as celebrating Saudi cultural elements. The ministry launched the Cultural Scholarship Program for school students, allowing them to enroll in specialized cultural schools outside Saudi Arabia to refine their skills.

The cultural scene has witnessed the organization of several events to highlight contemporary arts and Islamic arts, while enhancing cultural dialogue between the Kingdom and the world. The film industry sector has also been supported and stimulated to empower companies and investors in the field. The Crown Prince's project to develop historical mosques carries a noble message that embodies the preservation of the architectural identity of the Kingdom and the establishment of the aesthetics of local architecture. The cultural scene has also seen the Red Sea International Film Festival, "New Saudi Cinema," in the historic city of Jeddah, "Al-Balad," one of the sites listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Additionally, the Kingdom has succeeded in registering more heritage sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the Heritage Commission in the Kingdom has launched an initiative to remove distortions from archaeological sites, aiming to protect national heritage. This initiative includes addressing distorted archaeological sites in various regions of Saudi Arabia.
