Saudi Arabia has spared no effort, whether fraternal, humanitarian, or relief-related, since the birth of the Yemeni Republic. The Saudi leadership, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, opened their hearts before their country to the Yemeni people. They issued strict directives to facilitate all procedures for the Yemeni people and to actively contribute to the development process, making the Kingdom the primary and unmatched supporter of its brothers in Yemen.
In every Yemeni village, city, and governorate, you will find Saudi Arabia. This support is not limited to the liberated areas but extends even to the provinces under Houthi control. Saudi hospitals and relief efforts continue to reach these areas directly and indirectly, in addition to prioritizing Yemenis for employment within the Kingdom.
The Kingdom has provided more than three deposits to the Central Bank of Yemen; the first was in 2012 following the political crisis and the success of the Gulf Initiative in making a breakthrough, where it deposited one billion dollars in the Central Bank of Yemen in Sana'a to support the Yemeni economy. On February 20, 2017, it deposited two billion dollars in the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden to support the Yemeni riyal. In support of the Presidential Leadership Council, last year it provided a deposit of two billion dollars, shared equally with the UAE, to the Central Bank of Yemen, in addition to granting oil derivatives. It continues to provide support to the council and the Yemeni people, which has contributed to maintaining the Yemeni economy and restoring vitality to the national currency.
Saudi Arabia's celebration of its 95th National Day is a celebration for Muslims in general and for Yemenis in particular, due to the nature of the relationship, geography, and the blood that connects the two peoples. Yemenis do not hide their joy for this great occasion that holds a special place in their hearts for a country that represents their second homeland, where they receive love, welcome, and affection from its leadership and people, in addition to the generous hands that reach out to their families back home.
Mahdi Al-Nahari, the head of the Supreme Council of Yemeni Communities Worldwide and the head of the Yemeni community in Jeddah, told "Okaz": The Saudi National Day is not just a Saudi celebration but also a Yemeni one. This great nation, which has witnessed a qualitative leap during the reign of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, has played a significant role, after God, in saving our Yemeni ship from sinking and in protecting our people from a nightmare that almost became a reality: famine. The Saudi, relief, and humanitarian support for Yemen is felt by every Yemeni, not just in the cities but also in remote villages, where schools have been built, endless relief campaigns have taken place, and substantial economic support has been provided. No matter how much we speak, we cannot repay this leadership and generous people except to say: May God reward you well. You have been our support and strength in times of hardship, and at all times, you find Saudis alongside Yemenis. We do not say this only about the leadership but also about the people, who stand by us in our second homeland, the Kingdom, in times of sorrow, joy, and crises. Therefore, we say: The success and prosperity of the Kingdom is a success for all Arabs and Muslims, and especially for us Yemenis.
