رحب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، بالبيان المشترك الصادر عن الاجتماع الرباعي لكل من المملكة العربية السعودية، والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وجمهورية مصر العربية، ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، بشأن النزاع في السودان.
وأشاد البديوي بالمبادئ الواردة في البيان، التي أكدت احترام سيادة السودان ووحدته وسلامة أراضيه، وضرورة وقف فوري لإطلاق النار، وتيسير وصول المساعدات الإنسانية بشكل آمن ودون عوائق إلى جميع أنحاء السودان، وحماية المدنيين، والبنية التحتية المدنية وفقاً للقانون الدولي الإنساني، والانتقال إلى عملية سياسية شاملة وشفافة تقود إلى تشكيل حكومة مدنية ذات شرعية واسعة تعبر عن تطلعات الشعب السوداني في الأمن والاستقرار.
وثمن البديوي الأمين العام الجهود الحثيثة التي تبذلها المملكة العربية السعودية ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة وجمهورية مصر العربية والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بشأن النزاع في السودان.
وأكد البديوي دعم دول مجلس التعاون الكامل لهذه الجهود الدولية والعربية، واستعداد المجلس للتعاون مع مختلف الشركاء لتعزيز فرص السلام الدائم، ورفع المعاناة عن الشعب السوداني الشقيق، وضمان الحفاظ على مؤسسات الدولة السودانية واستقرارها.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, welcomed the joint statement issued by the quadrilateral meeting of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates regarding the conflict in Sudan.
Al-Budaiwi praised the principles outlined in the statement, which emphasized respect for Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, the necessity of an immediate ceasefire, facilitating safe and unhindered access to humanitarian assistance throughout Sudan, protecting civilians, and civil infrastructure in accordance with international humanitarian law, and transitioning to an inclusive and transparent political process that leads to the formation of a broadly legitimate civilian government that reflects the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security and stability.
Al-Budaiwi commended the tireless efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America regarding the conflict in Sudan.
He affirmed the full support of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for these international and Arab efforts, and the Council's readiness to cooperate with various partners to enhance opportunities for lasting peace, alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people, and ensure the preservation and stability of Sudanese state institutions.
