مع بداية موسم العودة إلى المدارس، شدّد المركز الوطني لسلامة النقل على ضرورة مضاعفة الاهتمام بسلامة الطلاب أثناء تنقّلهم من وإلى مدارسهم، في ظل إحصاءات عالمية «منظمة الصحة العالمية» تكشف وفاة أكثر من 500 طفل يومياً وإصابة الآلاف كل يوم في حوادث سير، ما يجعل هذه القضية أحد أخطر التحديات التي تواجه الأسر والمجتمعات.
وفي المملكة، حيث تشهد الشوارع كثافة مرورية ملحوظة عند بدء الدوام المدرسي وانتهائه، دعا المركز الوطني لسلامة النقل إلى الالتزام الصارم بأنظمة المرور، مؤكّداً أن توقف السائقين التام عند الحافلات المدرسية، واحترام ممرات المشاة، والالتزام بالسرعات المحددة قرب المدارس، هي إجراءات بسيطة لكنها تصنع الفارق بين بداية آمنة أو مأساوية.
وشدّد المركز الوطني لسلامة النقل على دور الأسرة في ترسيخ ثقافة السلامة لدى أبنائها، بدءاً من الانتظار في نقاط التجمع المخصصة، وربط حزام الأمان داخل المركبة، وتجنّب عبور الطرق المزدحمة دون إشراف، مبيناً أن التوعية اليومية أكثر فاعلية من أي حملات موسمية. وفي السياق ذاته، حث إدارات المدارس على جعل التثقيف المروري جزءاً من برامجها التربوية، وتدريب الطلاب منذ أعمار مبكرة على السلوكيات الصحيحة داخل وخارج المدرسة.
وأكد المركز الوطني لسلامة النقل أن سلامة الطالب مسؤولية جماعية، تبدأ من وعي السائق الفردي، وتمتد إلى الأسرة والمدرسة، وتتكامل مع الجهات التنظيمية والرقابية. ومع كل عام دراسي جديد، تتجدد هذه المسؤولية بأبعادها الوطنية والإنسانية، تحت شعار واضح: بدايتك بسلامة.

With the start of the back-to-school season, the National Center for Transportation Safety emphasized the need to double the attention to the safety of students during their commutes to and from school, in light of global statistics from the World Health Organization revealing that more than 500 children die daily and thousands are injured every day in traffic accidents, making this issue one of the most dangerous challenges facing families and communities.
In the Kingdom, where streets experience noticeable traffic congestion at the beginning and end of the school day, the National Center for Transportation Safety called for strict adherence to traffic regulations, confirming that complete stops by drivers at school buses, respecting pedestrian crossings, and adhering to speed limits near schools are simple measures that can make the difference between a safe or tragic start.
The National Center for Transportation Safety stressed the role of the family in instilling a culture of safety among their children, starting from waiting at designated gathering points, fastening seat belts inside the vehicle, and avoiding crossing busy roads without supervision, indicating that daily awareness is more effective than any seasonal campaigns. In this context, school administrations were urged to make traffic education a part of their educational programs, training students from an early age on the correct behaviors inside and outside the school.
The National Center for Transportation Safety confirmed that the safety of students is a collective responsibility, starting from individual driver awareness, extending to the family and school, and integrating with regulatory and supervisory bodies. With each new school year, this responsibility renews with its national and humanitarian dimensions, under a clear slogan: Your Start is with Safety.
