وصلت سفينة القوات البحرية الهندية آي أن أس تامال (INS TAMAL) (سفينة حربية متعددة المهام) وسفينة آي أن أس سورات (INS SURAT) (مدمرة صواريخ موجهة) التابعة للقوات البحرية الهندية إلى ميناء جدة الإسلامي خلال الفترة 27 إلى 28 أغسطس 2025م، وذلك في إطار التبادلات البحرية الاعتيادية بين جمهورية الهند والمملكة العربية السعودية. وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن السفينة (INS TAMAL) قد أُدخلت في الخدمة أخيراً في روسيا وهي في طريقها إلى جمهورية الهند، كما أنها آخر سفينة حربية يتم استيرادها من قبل القوات البحرية الهندية.
وتضمنت ارتباطات السفينة خلال زيارة الميناء مجموعة من الأنشطة الرسمية بما في ذلك التفاعل مع قيادة الأسطول الغربي والقوات البحرية الملكية السعودية ولقاء مع المدير العام لحرس الحدود بمنطقة مكة المكرمة والاطلاع على العمليات والإجراءات في مركز تنسيق البحث والإنقاذ بجدة، إضافة إلى مباراة ودية في كرة القدم مع القوات البحرية الملكية السعودية والتي ستتوج بتمرين عبور بحري (PASSEX) عند المغادرة. كما سيقام حفل عشاء من قبل سفير جمهورية الهند الدكتور سهيل أعجاز خان على متن السفينة (INS TAMAL) وذلك مساء يوم 28 أغسطس، بحضور الضيوف المواطنين السعوديين وأعضاء الجالية الهندية.
وترتبط جمهورية الهند والمملكة العربية السعودية بعلاقات دفاعية شاملة ويُعد التعاون البحري عنصراً مهماً فيها. فقد عقدت قوات البلدين التمرين البحري المشترك «المحيط الهندي» في عامي 2021م و2023م. كما تم عقد النسخة الأولى من المحادثات الثنائية للأركان بين القوات البحرية السعودية والهندية في وقت سابق من هذا العام. ويجري تنفيذ تبادل الضباط والمتدربين البحريين للتدريب وبناء القدرات بشكل منتظم. وأخيراً، قام وفد من القوات البحرية الملكية السعودية بزيارة مركز دمج المعلومات المتقدم (IFC-IOR) لمنطقة المحيط الهندي بمدينة غوروغارام-الهند في جولة دراسية.
وتُعتبر زيارة السفن البحرية الهندية إلى مدينة جدة دليلاً على الشراكة الإستراتيجية المتينة القائمة بين جمهورية الهند والمملكة العربية السعودية ومن شأنها أن تُسهم بشكل كبير في تعزيز الخبرات العملياتية المشتركة والتنسيق بين قوات البحرية للبلدين الصديقين.
The Indian Navy ship INS TAMAL (INS TAMAL) (a multi-role warship) and the ship INS SURAT (INS SURAT) (a guided missile destroyer) of the Indian Navy arrived at the Islamic Port of Jeddah during the period from August 27 to 28, 2025, as part of the routine naval exchanges between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is noteworthy that the ship (INS TAMAL) was recently commissioned in Russia and is on its way to the Republic of India, and it is the last warship imported by the Indian Navy.
During the ship's visit to the port, its engagements included a series of official activities, including interactions with the Western Fleet Command and the Royal Saudi Navy, a meeting with the Director General of the Border Guard in the Makkah region, and an overview of operations and procedures at the Jeddah Search and Rescue Coordination Center, in addition to a friendly football match with the Royal Saudi Navy, which will culminate in a maritime passage exercise (PASSEX) upon departure. An official dinner will also be hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of India, Dr. Suhail Ijaz Khan, aboard the ship (INS TAMAL) on the evening of August 28, with the attendance of Saudi national guests and members of the Indian community.
The Republic of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia share comprehensive defense relations, with maritime cooperation being an important element. The two countries' forces conducted the joint naval exercise "Indian Ocean" in 2021 and 2023. The first round of bilateral staff talks between the Saudi and Indian navies was held earlier this year. Regular exchanges of officers and naval trainees for training and capacity building are being implemented. Finally, a delegation from the Royal Saudi Navy visited the Advanced Information Fusion Center (IFC-IOR) for the Indian Ocean region in Gurugram, India, on a study tour.
The visit of Indian naval ships to the city of Jeddah is considered a testament to the strong strategic partnership between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is expected to significantly contribute to enhancing joint operational experiences and coordination between the naval forces of the two friendly countries.
