تواصل بلدية محافظة الخبر قطار التنمية بوتيرة متسارعة، إذ نفّذت خلال النصف الأول من عام 2025م أكثر من 80 مشروعًا وبرنامجًا تنمويًا شملت تطوير البنية التحتية، وتأهيل الأحياء، وأنسنة الشوارع، وتوسيع شبكة الطرق، ضمن مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030 لتعزيز جودة الحياة والارتقاء بالمدينة.
رئيس البلدية: الخبر أصبحت ورشة عمل مفتوحة
أكد رئيس بلدية الخبر المهندس مشعل بن الحميدي الوهبي، أن المدينة تحولت إلى «ورشة عمل شاملة»، يلمسها السكان والزوار على حد سواء، بما يسهم في تعزيز مكانتها كمركز اقتصادي وسياحي، وبيئة مثالية للعيش والعمل.
تطوير 22 طريقًا بطول يفوق 50 كم
في مجال الطرق، أنجزت البلدية تطوير 22 طريقًا رئيسيًا بإجمالي أطوال تجاوزت 50.3 كيلومتر، من أبرزها: طريق الكورنيش الشمالي (4,165م)، الكورنيش الجنوبي (5,000م)، طريق الملك سلمان (4,800م)، طريق الملك خالد (5,200م)، وطريق الملك فيصل (6,500م)، إلى جانب شوارع داخلية مهمة في أحياء العقربية، العليا، الراكة، اليرموك، والثقبة، وفق أعلى معايير السلامة المرورية.
تأهيل أحياء سكنية وتعزيز البنية التحتية
أنهت البلدية مشاريع تطويرية في مدينة العمال والعقربية، فيما تتواصل الأعمال في أحياء الثقبة والهدا ضمن خطة شاملة لتأهيل الأحياء السكنية وتحسين البنية التحتية.
أنسنة 8 شوارع واستمرار تطوير 10 مواقع
ضمن مشاريع أنسنة المدينة، تم تطوير 8 شوارع رئيسية وتحويلها إلى بيئة صديقة للمشاة، من أبرزها: طريق الأمير تركي، وشارع 21 بحي العليا، وشارع عبدالقادر المهيدب بحي الروابي. كما تواصل البلدية أنسنة 10 مواقع أخرى بطول إجمالي يزيد على 17,000 متر طولي.
تطوير الخبر الشمالية بمساحة 300 ألف متر مربع
أطلقت بلدية الخبر المرحلة الأولى من مشروع تطوير الخبر الشمالية على مساحة تتجاوز 300,000 متر مربع، ويشمل المشروع أرصفة للمشاة بمساحة 40,410 متر مربع، وتطوير شوارع بطول 5,490 متر، ومسطحات خضراء، ومواقف للسيارات، وممرات مشاة آمنة، بالإضافة إلى أعمال السفلتة والإنارة واللوحات الإرشادية.
تنمية شاملة لأحياء العزيزية في 11 موقعًا
شملت أعمال التطوير في العزيزية أكثر من 11 موقعًا، من بينها سفلتة حي الشراع بالكامل، وسفلتة وإنارة حي الكوثر، واستكمال أعمال حي الصواري، وتنفيذ شارع الثلاثين، وممشى العزيزية بطول 2,000 متر، إلى جانب تحسينات شملت أحياء الرجاء والمرجان، وتطوير عدد من الحدائق مثل الجوهرة والرحاب.
تحسين المشهد الحضري وتكسية الجسور والأنفاق
في إطار جهود تحسين المشهد الحضري، أنهت البلدية أعمال تكسية جسر طريق الملك سلمان، فيما تتواصل أعمال تأهيل وتجميل نفق طريق الملك خالد عند تقاطع شارع 20.
مرافق عامة ومماشي صحية بأحدث المواصفات
أنجزت البلدية مشروع تطوير ممشى الملك سلمان بطول 2,300 متر، وتضمن 140 عنصر إنارة جمالي، و19 جهازًا للياقة البدنية، وأكثر من 30 مقعدًا للجلوس. كما شارفت على الانتهاء من تطوير ممشى طريق الأمير تركي بطول 700 متر بنسبة إنجاز بلغت 96%، إلى جانب تطوير منطقة حضرية في حي البحر على مساحة 21,250 متر مربع.
مشاريع سياحية وترفيهية على الواجهة البحرية
تعمل البلدية على تطوير عدد من الوجهات السياحية، أبرزها مشروع تطوير الواجهة البحرية على مساحة 265,000 متر مربع وبطول 4,000 متر، ويشمل ممشى جديدًا، مسطحات مائية، مناطق ألعاب، نوافير تفاعلية، وأماكن جلوس. كما تواصل تطوير كورنيش الخبر الجنوبي على مساحة 15,000 متر مربع وبطول 300 متر.
تحرير الحركة المرورية وتحسين الانسيابية
في مجال تنظيم الحركة المرورية، ألغت البلدية 15 إشارة مرورية، واستحدثت 25 نقطة التفاف جديدة، ما ساهم في تحسين انسيابية التنقل وتخفيف الازدحام المروري في المحاور الرئيسية.
مشاريع متواصلة لتحقيق بيئة حضرية مستدامة
اختتم المهندس مشعل الوهبي تصريحه بالتأكيد على استمرار بلدية الخبر في تنفيذ المزيد من المشاريع النوعية والمستدامة، بما يعزز مكانة المدينة كوجهة استثمارية وسياحية، ويحقق بيئة حضرية متكاملة تلبي تطلعات سكانها وزوارها.
The Municipality of Al Khobar is continuing its development train at a rapid pace, having implemented more than 80 development projects and programs during the first half of 2025, which included infrastructure development, neighborhood rehabilitation, humanizing streets, and expanding the road network, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance quality of life and elevate the city.
The Mayor: Al Khobar has become an open workshop
The Mayor of Al Khobar, Engineer Mishal bin Al-Humaidi Al-Wahbi, confirmed that the city has transformed into a "comprehensive workshop," which is felt by both residents and visitors alike, contributing to enhancing its status as an economic and tourist center, and an ideal environment for living and working.
Development of 22 roads exceeding 50 km in length
In the field of roads, the municipality has completed the development of 22 main roads with a total length exceeding 50.3 kilometers, including: the Northern Corniche Road (4,165m), the Southern Corniche (5,000m), King Salman Road (4,800m), King Khalid Road (5,200m), and King Faisal Road (6,500m), in addition to important internal streets in the neighborhoods of Al-Aqrabiyah, Al-Ulya, Al-Rakah, Al-Yarmouk, and Al-Thuqbah, according to the highest traffic safety standards.
Rehabilitation of residential neighborhoods and enhancing infrastructure
The municipality has completed development projects in the Labor City and Al-Aqrabiyah, while work continues in the neighborhoods of Al-Thuqbah and Al-Hada as part of a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate residential neighborhoods and improve infrastructure.
Humanizing 8 streets and continuing the development of 10 sites
As part of the city's humanization projects, 8 main streets have been developed and transformed into pedestrian-friendly environments, including: Prince Turki Road, Street 21 in Al-Ulya, and Abdul Qader Al-Muhaideb Street in Al-Rawabi. The municipality is also continuing to humanize 10 other sites with a total length exceeding 17,000 linear meters.
Development of Northern Al Khobar over an area of 300,000 square meters
The Municipality of Al Khobar has launched the first phase of the Northern Al Khobar development project over an area exceeding 300,000 square meters, which includes pedestrian walkways covering 40,410 square meters, the development of streets with a length of 5,490 meters, green spaces, parking lots, and safe pedestrian pathways, in addition to asphalt, lighting, and signage works.
Comprehensive development of Al-Aziziyah neighborhoods in 11 locations
The development works in Al-Aziziyah included more than 11 locations, including the complete asphalting of Al-Shiraa neighborhood, asphalting and lighting of Al-Kawthar neighborhood, completion of works in Al-Sawari neighborhood, implementation of 30th Street, and the Al-Aziziyah walkway with a length of 2,000 meters, along with improvements that included the neighborhoods of Al-Raja and Al-Marjan, and the development of several parks such as Al-Jawhara and Al-Rihab.
Improving the urban landscape and cladding bridges and tunnels
As part of efforts to improve the urban landscape, the municipality has completed the cladding of King Salman Road Bridge, while work continues on the rehabilitation and beautification of King Khalid Road Tunnel at the intersection of Street 20.
Public facilities and healthy walkways with the latest specifications
The municipality has completed the development of King Salman Walkway with a length of 2,300 meters, which included 140 decorative lighting elements, 19 fitness devices, and more than 30 seating areas. It is also nearing completion of the development of Prince Turki Road Walkway with a length of 700 meters, with a completion rate of 96%, in addition to the development of an urban area in Al-Bahr neighborhood covering 21,250 square meters.
Tourism and entertainment projects on the waterfront
The municipality is working on developing several tourist destinations, most notably the development of the waterfront over an area of 265,000 square meters and a length of 4,000 meters, which includes a new walkway, water surfaces, play areas, interactive fountains, and seating areas. It is also continuing the development of the Southern Corniche of Al Khobar over an area of 15,000 square meters and a length of 300 meters.
Facilitating traffic movement and improving flow
In the field of traffic organization, the municipality has removed 15 traffic signals and established 25 new turning points, which has contributed to improving the flow of movement and reducing traffic congestion in the main corridors.
Ongoing projects to achieve a sustainable urban environment
Engineer Mishal Al-Wahbi concluded his statement by affirming the continued efforts of the Municipality of Al Khobar in implementing more quality and sustainable projects, which enhance the city's status as an investment and tourist destination, and achieve a comprehensive urban environment that meets the aspirations of its residents and visitors.
