The Jeddah Municipality praised the Cabinet's decision to assign it the responsibility of monitoring the coastline extending from the Al-Safh Center in Rabigh Governorate to the Al-Kudouf Center in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate to the south. It considered the decision an important step in preserving coastlines and protecting marine beaches, affirming its commitment to mobilizing all its resources to carry out the mission in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities.

The official spokesperson for the Jeddah Municipality, Mohammed Al-Buqami, told Okaz that the municipality has launched the activities of the Marine Coast Monitoring and Protection Agency to preserve and protect the beaches. He pointed out that the municipality is responsible for monitoring marine activities and environmentally protecting the coastlines along the beaches between Jeddah and Rabigh.

Al-Buqami revealed that the municipality has begun implementing its monitoring program by employing a number of marine monitors to oversee marine activities, in addition to providing a group of lifeguards to secure the beaches available for swimming.

He explained that the launch of the Marine Coast Monitoring and Protection Agency was coordinated with several entities in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Transport and the Chairman of the Transport Authority, Rami Al-Rumaih, Jeddah Mayor Saleh Ali Al-Turki, the Commander of the Border Guard Sector in the Makkah Region, Major General Fahd Al-Dajani, and the CEO of Jeddah Transport Company, Dr. Osama Abdu. He concluded by stating that the municipality's launch of the program aligns with Saudi Vision 2030 and the related programs aimed at enhancing the quality of life.
