مواصلة لتطوير البنية الثقافية لصناعة السينما في المملكة، أعلنت هيئة الأفلام انطلاق الدورة الثالثة من مؤتمر النقد السينمائي وملتقياته، تحت شعار «السينما.. فن المكان»، في ثلاث محطات ثقافية على امتداد المملكة، تشمل منطقة عسير في أغسطس القادم، ومحافظة القطيف في أكتوبر، وتختتم في نوفمبر بالعاصمة الرياض.
يعكس المؤتمر التزام الهيئة ببناء مشهد نقدي يتجاوز المفهوم التقليدي للفعاليات إلى إرساء بنية معرفية تفاعلية تجمع النقاد، والباحثين، وصناع الأفلام، والمواهب السعودية الصاعدة من خلال برنامج شامل يضم جلسات معرفية، وورش عمل تطبيقية، ومعارض فنية متخصصة.
وتحمل نسخة هذا العام شعار «السينما.. فنّ المكان»، ليفتح المؤتمر أفقاً للحوار حول العلاقة المتبادلة بين السينما والمكان، بوصفها علاقة ترسيخ هوية، وتمثيلاً سردياً، وتأملاً بصرياً، ليثري كل منهما الآخر تاريخياً. سيستعرض المؤتمر تجسيد المكان في السينما كرمز ومرآة للواقع، أو كنافذة للخيال، بما يفتح باباً واسعاً للمقاربات النقدية والفلسفية المتنوعة.
ويمثل المؤتمر مساحة حوارية تسهم في تطوير صنعة النقد السينمائي في المملكة والمنطقة، وفتح نوافذ تواصل مع التجارب العالمية، مع التركيز على تمكين جيل جديد من الكتّاب والنقّاد عبر برامج تدريبية وممارسات مهنية منهجية. كما يسعى إلى بناء جسور مستدامة بين الممارسين والأكاديميين، وتعزيز الثقافة السينمائية لدى الجمهور باعتبار النقد جزءاً جوهرياً من تطور الصناعة.
ومن خلال انعقاده في مناطق ثقافية متنوعة حول المملكة، يجسّد المؤتمر رؤية هيئة الأفلام في جعل النقد السينمائي عنصراً فاعلاً من عناصر صناعة السينما المحلية، لا مجرد نشاط مواكب لها.
الجدير بالذكر أن النسخة السابقة شهدت حضوراً تجاوز 10 آلاف زائر من أكثر من 30 دولة، بمشاركة ما يزيد على 35 جهة محلية ودولية، إلى جانب نقّاد ومخرجين وباحثين سينمائيين بارزين، وبنسخته السابقة واصل المؤتمر تعزيز مكانته الفريدة كمنصة تحتفي بالحركة النقدية السينمائية في المنطقة.
Continuing the development of the cultural infrastructure for the film industry in the Kingdom, the Film Authority announced the launch of the third edition of the Film Criticism Conference and its forums, under the slogan "Cinema... The Art of Place," in three cultural hubs across the Kingdom, including the Asir region in August, the Qatif governorate in October, and concluding in November in the capital, Riyadh.
The conference reflects the authority's commitment to building a critical scene that transcends the traditional concept of events to establish an interactive knowledge framework that brings together critics, researchers, filmmakers, and emerging Saudi talents through a comprehensive program that includes informative sessions, practical workshops, and specialized art exhibitions.
This year's edition carries the slogan "Cinema... The Art of Place," opening a dialogue about the mutual relationship between cinema and place, as a relationship that solidifies identity, narrative representation, and visual contemplation, enriching each other historically. The conference will showcase the embodiment of place in cinema as a symbol and mirror of reality, or as a window to imagination, which opens a wide door for diverse critical and philosophical approaches.
The conference represents a dialogical space that contributes to the development of film criticism in the Kingdom and the region, opening channels of communication with global experiences, while focusing on empowering a new generation of writers and critics through training programs and systematic professional practices. It also aims to build sustainable bridges between practitioners and academics, and to enhance film culture among the audience, considering criticism an essential part of the industry's development.
By being held in diverse cultural areas across the Kingdom, the conference embodies the Film Authority's vision of making film criticism an active element in the local film industry, not just a concurrent activity.
It is worth noting that the previous edition witnessed an attendance of over 10,000 visitors from more than 30 countries, with the participation of more than 35 local and international entities, alongside prominent critics, directors, and film researchers. In its previous edition, the conference continued to strengthen its unique position as a platform celebrating the cinematic critical movement in the region.
