هل يغيّر قرار الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تزويد أوكرانيا بمنظومة «صواريخ باتريوت»، وأسلحة أخرى، من موازين القوى في الحرب مع روسيا؟
القرار الذي اعتبره البعض بمثابة انقلاب في السياسة الأمريكية، ترافق مع الإعلان عن خيبة الأمل في نظيره الروسي، والتهديد بفرض عقوبات قاسية على موسكو، بدا وكأنه تعبير عن إحباط الرئيس ترمب المتزايد من الرئيس الروسي.
ولا شك أن الصفقة الجديدة التي طال انتظار كييف لها، ستكون مكلفة للغاية، إذ تبلغ تكلفة البطارية الواحدة نحو 1.1 مليار دولار، في حين يصل سعر الصاروخ الاعتراضي إلى أربعة ملايين دولار؛ وفقاً لمراكز دراسات إستراتيجية وعسكرية.
لكن في رأي خبراء عسكريين، فإن منظومة باتريوت وحدها ليست كافية لإحداث التغيير الجذري في ميدان المعركة، ويعتقد هؤلاء أن الاتفاق الأمريكي- الأوروبي في الصفقة الجديدة، يحمل أبعاداً عسكرية وسياسية، في آنٍ واحد، هدفها الضغط على موسكو لتسريع جولات التفاوض وصولاً إلى هدنة يعقبها إنهاء الحرب المُستعرة.
ولا شك أن أكثر من ثلاث سنوات من الحرب، كشفت أن حاجات الجيش الأوكراني تتجاوز الدفاعات الجوية، إذ إنه بات بحاجة ماسّة إلى أسلحة وذخائر وإمدادات متنوعة.

However, military experts believe that the Patriot system alone is not sufficient to bring about a radical change on the battlefield. They think that the U.S.-European agreement in the new deal carries both military and political dimensions, aimed at pressuring Moscow to expedite negotiations leading to a ceasefire followed by an end to the raging war.
