نجح فريق طبي متخصص بجراحة الأورام بمستشفى الأمير محمد بن ناصر التابع لتجمع جازان الصحي في إجراء عملية جراحية نادرة عالمياً عبارة عن استئصال ثلاثة أورام نادرة ومعقدة في جهة واحدة من الرقبة، حيث تعد من الحالات النادرة جداً عالمياً.
وفي التفاصيل، ذكرت قائدة الفريق الجراحي الدكتورة شيماء مغدي استشارية جراحة الثدي والغدد الصماء بأن المريضة حضرت للمستشفى وكانت تعاني من أعراض إرهاق مزمن وآلام في المفاصل وارتفاع غير مفسر في مستويات الكالسيوم في الدم.
وأضافت بأن الفريق الطبي قام بإجراء تحاليل مخبرية شاملة لوظائف الغدة الدرقية والجار درقية، ومستويات الكالسيوم وفيتامين دال وتصوير موجات فوق صوتية وأشعة مقطعية للرقبة وأخذ خزعة موجهة من الورم وتنسيق مسبق بين أقسام التخدير، الغدد الصماء، وعلم الأمراض، وبعد التشخيص الدقيق، تبين وجود تصادم نسيجي نادر يتضمن ثلاثة أورام في جهة واحدة من الرقبة، تشمل نوعا نادرا من سرطان الغدة الدرقية يُعرف بسرطان ورثن (Warthin-like PTC) والنوع الجريبي من سرطان الغدة الدرقية الحليمي (Follicular Variant of PTC) وورم وظيفي في الغدة الجار درقية (Functioning Parathyroid Adenoma).
وبينت بأن هذا التزامن يعد فريدا من نوعه خصوصا الذي يجمع بين نوعين من سرطانات الغدة الدرقية وورم جار درقي نشط وظيفيًا حيث يعد الأول من نوعه على مستوى العالم، ويتم توثيقه حاليًا في الأوساط العلمية.
وأوضحت بأن الفريق الطبي قام باستخدام تقنية جراحية دقيقة لاستئصال الأورام الثلاثة مع المحافظة على العصب الحنجري والغدد الجار درقية السليمة، لضمان أفضل النتائج الصحية للمريضة تم من خلالها استئصال كامل للغدة الدرقية مع الورمين السرطانيين، بالإضافة إلى استئصال الغدة الجار درقية اليمنى النشطة، باستخدام تقنية هجينة دقيقة مع الحفاظ الكامل على العصب الحنجري. وتكللت ولله الحمد بالنجاح وغادرت المريضة المستشفى بعد تماثلها للشفاء.

وتُعد هذه الحالة من الحالات النادرة جداً عالمياً حيث لم يسبق نشر حالات مشابهة لها في المجلات العلمية العالمية التي تتواجد فيها ثلاثة أورام في جهة واحدة من الرقبة، وتبرز أهمية التعاون بين التخصصات الدقيقة والتنسيق المسبق لضمان تقديم رعاية صحية على أعلى مستوى، بما يعكس تطور القطاع الصحي في المنطقة ويضع جازان على خارطة الريادة الطبية العالمية.
A specialized medical team in tumor surgery at Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Hospital, part of the Jazan Health Cluster, successfully performed a rare surgical operation globally involving the removal of three rare and complex tumors on one side of the neck, which is considered one of the very rare cases worldwide.
In detail, the leader of the surgical team, Dr. Shaimaa Magdi, a consultant in breast and endocrine surgery, stated that the patient arrived at the hospital suffering from symptoms of chronic fatigue, joint pain, and unexplained elevated calcium levels in the blood.
She added that the medical team conducted comprehensive laboratory tests for thyroid and parathyroid functions, calcium and vitamin D levels, ultrasound imaging, and CT scans of the neck, and performed a guided biopsy of the tumor, along with prior coordination between the anesthesia, endocrine, and pathology departments. After accurate diagnosis, it was found that there was a rare tissue collision involving three tumors on one side of the neck, including a rare type of thyroid cancer known as Warthin-like PTC, the follicular variant of papillary thyroid cancer (Follicular Variant of PTC), and a functioning parathyroid adenoma.
She indicated that this coincidence is unique, especially as it combines two types of thyroid cancers and an active functioning parathyroid tumor, making it the first of its kind globally, and it is currently being documented in scientific circles.
Dr. Magdi explained that the medical team used a precise surgical technique to remove the three tumors while preserving the healthy recurrent laryngeal nerve and parathyroid glands, ensuring the best health outcomes for the patient. This involved the complete removal of the thyroid gland along with the two cancerous tumors, in addition to the removal of the active right parathyroid gland, using a precise hybrid technique while fully preserving the recurrent laryngeal nerve. The operation was successful, and the patient left the hospital after recovering.

This case is considered one of the very rare cases globally, as no similar cases have been published in international scientific journals involving three tumors on one side of the neck. It highlights the importance of collaboration between specialized fields and prior coordination to ensure the provision of healthcare at the highest level, reflecting the development of the health sector in the region and placing Jazan on the map of global medical leadership.
