وزير التعليم: القطاع غير الربحي شريك رئيسي لتطوير التعليم وتحقيق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030

Minister of Education Yusuf Al-Bunyan confirmed that the ministry has begun serious steps towards "humanizing" schools and improving the educational environment in a way that contributes to enhancing the quality of learning outcomes, explaining that the school environment represents nearly one-third of the impact on educational outcomes alongside curricula and teachers.

This came during his participation in the main session titled Promising Opportunities and Future Outlook for the Non-Profit Sector in Education and Training, as part of the second edition of the Non-Profit Sector Forum in Education and Training, which commenced on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the Ministry of Education headquarters in Riyadh, under the slogan Quality Partnerships and Sustainable Solutions, with the participation of several highnesses, officials, a selection of educational leaders, representatives of non-profit organizations, and interested parties from the public and private sectors.

The Minister of Education pointed out that joint work with the Ministry of Environment is a fundamental pillar for transforming education and ensuring the sustainability of improvements in the learning environment, adding: "We have begun improving the humanization of schools and are working to benefit from the ministry's programs to support the educational environment within a comprehensive vision that seeks to provide a healthy and stimulating environment within schools."

Al-Bunyan added that the non-profit sector is a key partner alongside the government and private sectors in developing education and achieving the targets of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, confirming that the ministry is working on developing teachers through capacity-building programs and ensuring the quality of outputs, establishing a national center for the first time to develop curricula in partnership with experts and specialized institutions, and launching initiatives to improve the educational environment and prepare attractive and stimulating school facilities, in addition to enhancing governance and accountability to ensure the sustainability of impact and measure returns.

He clarified that the ministry has established a Development Foundation to support the needs of teachers, and last year signed 18 agreements that included more than 2,400 programs, implementing initiatives worth over 400 million riyals through the Ihsan platform, and contributing to providing more than 2,700 scholarships in collaboration with the Martyrs, Missing, and Prisoners Fund in private schools.

He also announced that the number of volunteers in the education sector has exceeded 600,000 volunteers who have provided more than 20 million volunteer hours, emphasizing that this historic achievement requires institutional work to ensure its sustainability and achieve a tangible impact in the community.

He pointed out that the ministry continues to update regulatory and legislative frameworks, indicating that decisions have been issued by the Council of Ministers enabling the Ministry of Education, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, to assign buildings and sites for non-profit schools using new methods that contribute to expanding the scope of support and providing sustainable resources, stressing the importance of quality programs, such as vocational training for teachers through the National Institute for Teacher Development and the National Curriculum Center, to enhance the quality of education and activate community partnership.

In conclusion, the Minister of Education affirmed: "I am confident that the community will become more mature in non-profit work and social responsibility, which is the essence of the Kingdom's Vision 2030."
