The Arab Parliament announced the election of Saudi bin Sulaib Al-Otaibi, a member of the Shura Council and the Arab Parliament, as the First Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament by acclamation, in recognition of his role in supporting joint Arab parliamentary work.

This announcement came during the fifth (final) general session of the first legislative term of the fourth session of the Arab Parliament, chaired by His Excellency the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

At the beginning of his speech during the general session following his unanimous election as the First Deputy Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Al-Otaibi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect them - for their significant efforts and pioneering initiatives that support the course of joint Arab action, enhance security and stability in the region, and for the support, solidarity, and empowerment that the wise leadership provides to the people of the Kingdom in various fields, reflecting the Kingdom's image and its honorable positions.

Al-Otaibi expressed his thanks to His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, for his continuous support and encouragement to the council members, and for his diligent efforts in establishing, supporting, and activating parliamentary diplomacy in the Shura Council.

He extended his heartfelt thanks to His Excellency the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi, for his efforts in leading this parliamentary edifice towards broader horizons of impactful work, and to the members of the Arab Parliament for the trust bestowed upon him, looking forward to working on the principle of partnership under the umbrella of the Arab Parliament to support Arab issues.
