The Minister of Justice, Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, chaired the 74th meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which was held yesterday (Wednesday) in the city of Rabat, following his re-election as the head of the bureau for a new term.

The Minister of Justice expressed his gratitude to the members of the Executive Bureau for re-electing him as the head of the bureau and emphasized the importance of working to enhance Arab cooperation in all judicial fields, in light of the decisions made by the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice.

The meeting discussed the Arab Convention on Combating Terrorism and its implementation mechanism, as well as enhancing Arab and international cooperation in the field of combating terrorism.

The meeting also examined the unification of Arab legislation, which includes: the draft Arab model law for combating drugs and psychotropic substances, and the draft Arab guiding law for the protection and assistance of displaced persons in Arab countries.

Specialists considered the re-election of the Saudi Minister of Justice, Dr. Walid Al-Samaani, as the head of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice to be a reflection of his significant role in developing and reshaping judicial work, leading to substantial and tangible leaps that positively impacted Arab judicial facilities, in addition to the development of judicial systems.
