أعربت وزارة الخارجية عن ترحيب المملكة العربية السعودية بإعلان فخامة الرئيس دونالد ترمب رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية التوصل لصيغة اتفاق لوقف إطلاق النار بين طرفي التصعيد في المنطقة، وثمنت الجهود المبذولة لخفض التصعيد.
وقالت في بيان لها اليوم: «تتطلع المملكة أن تشهد الفترة القادمة التزامًا من جميع الأطراف بالتهدئة والامتناع عن استخدام القوة أو التلويح بها، وأن يسهم هذا الاتفاق في إعادة الأمن والاستقرار إلى المنطقة وتجنيبها مخاطر استمرار التصعيد، وتجدد المملكة موقفها الثابت في دعم انتهاج الحوار والوسائل الدبلوماسية سبيلًا لتسوية الخلافات والنزاعات الإقليمية انطلاقًا من مبدأ احترام سيادة الدول وترسيخ الأمن والاستقرار والرخاء والازدهار في المنطقة والعالم».
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome to the announcement by His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, regarding the reaching of a formula for a ceasefire agreement between the parties involved in the escalation in the region, and appreciated the efforts made to de-escalate.
In a statement today, it said: "The Kingdom looks forward to witnessing a commitment from all parties to de-escalation and to refraining from the use or threat of force in the coming period, and that this agreement contributes to restoring security and stability to the region and protecting it from the risks of continued escalation. The Kingdom reiterates its firm position in supporting dialogue and diplomatic means as a way to resolve regional disputes and conflicts, based on the principle of respecting the sovereignty of states and reinforcing security, stability, prosperity, and flourishing in the region and the world."
