تزامناً مع اليوم العالمي للتصوير؛ افتتح في جدة معرض «جدة.. حاضرها امتداد لماضيها» بمشاركة 46 مصوراً ومصورة، بحضور الأمير عبدالعزيز بن فيصل بن عبدالمجيد آل سعود.
وشهد الافتتاح حضوراً لافتاً من الفنانين والمصورين والمهتمين بالفنون البصرية، حيث اكتظت صالة المعرض بمحبي ومتذوقي فن التصوير الفوتوغرافي، في مشهد عكس الحضور المتنامي للصورة في المشهد الثقافي والفني وما تحظى به التجارب الفوتوغرافية من اهتمام لدى الجمهور.
وتجول الأمير عبدالعزيز بن فيصل والحضور بين أروقة المعرض واطلعوا على الأعمال المشاركة التي قدمت قراءات بصرية متعددة لمدينة جدة، واستحضرت العلاقة بين ماضيها وحاضرها من خلال تفاصيل العمارة والبحر والإنسان والأحياء القديمة ومظاهر التحول التي تشهدها المدينة.
وبين ذاكرة المكان وتحولات الحاضر بدا المعرض في ليلة افتتاحه حكاية جماعية ترويها عشرات العدسات عن جدة التي تتغير ملامحها دون أن تفقد ذاكرتها، وتظل الصورة فيها شاهداً على زمن يمضي وآخر يتشكل.
منظم المعرض الفوتوغرافي والمدرب العالمي طارق خوجة أكد أن المعرض يقدم تجربة بصرية تتجاوز توثيق المكان إلى قراءة ذاكرته واستحضار روحه، مشيراً إلى أن الأعمال المشاركة جمعت بين جدة التاريخية وملامح المدينة الحديثة وقدمت عبر عدسات المصورين حكايات بصرية تربط الماضي بالحاضر.
وأضاف خوجة أن تنوع الرؤى والتجارب المشاركة منح المعرض ثراءً بصرياً يعكس خصوصية جدة وتحولاتها، مؤكدا أن الفكرة التي تجمع هذه الأعمال تنطلق من أن حاضر جدة ليس منفصلاً عن ماضيها بل هو امتداد لذاكرتها وجذورها وهويتها التي ظلت حاضرة رغم ما تشهده المدينة من تطور وتحول.
وقال الفنان الفوتوغرافي المشارك علي سليمان إن المعرض يمثل مساحة مهمة للمصورين لتقديم رؤيتهم للمدينة بعيداً عن الصورة التقليدية، مشيراً إلى أن جدة مدينة غنية بالتفاصيل وأن كل زاوية فيها تحمل حكاية.
وأضاف «ما نحاول تقديمه من خلال الصورة ليس مجرد توثيق للمكان بل قراءة لذاكرته وروحه وعلاقته بالإنسان، ومشاركة 46 مصوراً ومصورة تمنح المعرض تنوعاً بصرياً جميلاً لأن كل مصور يرى جدة بعينه وإحساسه الخاص فيما تجمعنا جميعاً محبة هذه المدينة والرغبة في حفظ تفاصيلها بالصورة».
وأكد سليمان أن الإقبال الكبير الذي شهده الافتتاح يعكس المكانة التي بات يحتلها التصوير الفوتوغرافي في المشهد الفني والثقافي ويؤكد تنامي اهتمام الجمهور بالصورة وما تحمله من أبعاد جمالية وإنسانية وتوثيقية.
Coinciding with World Photography Day, the exhibition "Jeddah... Its Present is an Extension of Its Past" was inaugurated in Jeddah with the participation of 46 male and female photographers, in the presence of Prince Abdulaziz bin Faisal bin Abdulmajid Al Saud.
The opening witnessed a remarkable attendance from artists, photographers, and those interested in visual arts, as the exhibition hall was crowded with lovers and connoisseurs of photography, reflecting the growing presence of imagery in the cultural and artistic scene and the interest that photographic experiences receive from the public.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Faisal and the attendees toured the exhibition's corridors and viewed the participating works that offered multiple visual readings of the city of Jeddah, evoking the relationship between its past and present through the details of architecture, the sea, people, old neighborhoods, and the transformations the city is experiencing.
Between the memory of the place and the transformations of the present, the exhibition on its opening night appeared as a collective story narrated by dozens of lenses about Jeddah, which is changing its features without losing its memory, with the image remaining a witness to a time that passes and another that is formed.
The organizer of the photographic exhibition and international trainer Tarek Khoja confirmed that the exhibition offers a visual experience that goes beyond documenting the place to reading its memory and evoking its spirit, pointing out that the participating works combined historical Jeddah with the features of the modern city and presented through the photographers' lenses visual stories that connect the past with the present.
Khoja added that the diversity of visions and experiences presented gave the exhibition a visual richness that reflects the uniqueness of Jeddah and its transformations, emphasizing that the idea uniting these works stems from the fact that the present of Jeddah is not separate from its past but is an extension of its memory, roots, and identity that remain present despite the development and transformation the city is witnessing.
Participating photographer Ali Suleiman stated that the exhibition represents an important space for photographers to present their vision of the city away from the traditional image, noting that Jeddah is a city rich in details and that every corner of it carries a story.
He added, "What we are trying to present through the image is not just documentation of the place but a reading of its memory, spirit, and relationship with humanity. The participation of 46 male and female photographers gives the exhibition a beautiful visual diversity because each photographer sees Jeddah through their own eyes and feelings, while we are all united by our love for this city and the desire to preserve its details through images."
Suleiman confirmed that the large turnout witnessed at the opening reflects the status that photography has come to occupy in the artistic and cultural scene and affirms the growing public interest in imagery and what it carries of aesthetic, human, and documentary dimensions.
