The National Center for Curricula emphasized the necessity for public education schools at all levels for boys and girls to adhere to the standards of the academic schedule in the blended education system.
7 Classes for "In-Person"
The center stated in the sixth updated edition of the curriculum guide that the school schedule for in-person education, which consists of 7 class periods per day, must consider the following: 45 minutes for the elementary and intermediate stages, and 50 minutes for the secondary stage, while benefiting from the application of the minimum limit set, not exceeding 5% of the classes allocated for the subjects.
In distance education, which consists of 11 classes, the duration of each class is a minimum of 35 minutes for the elementary and intermediate stages and 40 minutes for the secondary stage.
Possibility of Increasing Classes
The standards for in-person education included the possibility of increasing the number of classes within the time frame of the school day, alongside a proportional reduction in the basic learning time for each class, ensuring that no class time is less than 30 minutes in the elementary and intermediate stages, and 35 minutes in the secondary stage. Additional classes are calculated with a total time reduction of 5 minutes per class, and the total number of classes during the school day is determined with the possibility of benefiting from the specified minimum limit, not exceeding 5% of the classes allocated for the subjects. This mechanism is applied in a manner that aligns with the characteristics of cognitive and skill development, so as not to affect the student's concentration or exceed the allocated time for the school day.
For distance education, the number of classes is determined in conjunction with the number of classes accounted for on in-person days, with each class lasting a minimum of 35 minutes for the elementary and intermediate stages and 40 minutes for the secondary stage, ensuring that the total weekly class periods for each educational stage do not fall below what is approved in the curriculum guide.
