The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Dima bint Yahya Al-Yahya as a member of the High-Level Panel on Transit for Landlocked Developing Countries (HLP-FoT).
Dima Al-Yahya is the representative from the Arab region who has been appointed to the panel, reflecting her expertise and role in the fields of digital economy, innovation, and international digital cooperation.
The panel announced by the United Nations includes several senior representatives and experts from governments, international organizations, the private sector, and academia.
Al-Yahya currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) for a second term, and she has experience in international cooperation, multilateral diplomacy, policy-making, and promoting cross-border investment and development.
Her appointment follows a consultative process and nominations from UN member states, as part of an effort to gather diverse expertise from governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia, and other fields to support the work of the panel.
