وجّه خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، بناءً على ما عرضه ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، بإطلاق اسم الملك عبدالعزيز على جامع سيتم تنفيذه شمال مدينة الرياض، وتخصيص أرض تبلغ مساحتها 88 ألف متر مربع على امتداد طريق الملك عبدالعزيز لإقامة الجامع.
ويأتي إطلاق اسم الملك عبدالعزيز بن عبدالرحمن على الجامع ترسيخاً لإرثه الوطني وما سطره من منجز تاريخي في توحيد المملكة، واهتمامه ببناء الجوامع والمساجد في جميع مناطق المملكة.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, has directed, based on the proposal of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, to name a mosque that will be constructed north of Riyadh after King Abdulaziz, and to allocate a land area of 88,000 square meters along King Abdulaziz Road for the establishment of the mosque.
The naming of the mosque after King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman comes as a reinforcement of his national legacy and the historical achievements he made in unifying the Kingdom, as well as his interest in building mosques in all regions of the Kingdom.
