استضافت جامعة الإمام عبد الرحمن بن فيصل، ممثلةً بكلية الآداب، الإعلامي والصحافي داود الشريان، ضمن برامج وأنشطة وحدة الثقافة والفنون، الهادفة إلى إثراء الحراك الثقافي والإعلامي، وتعزيز التواصل مع التجارب والخبرات الوطنية في مختلف المجالات، وجاءت الاستضافة ضمن لقاء حواري إعلامي ناقش عددًا من التحولات التي يشهدها المشهد الإعلامي، من أبرزها تحولات صناعة الخبر الصحفي في زمن المنصة والخوارزمية، ومستقبل العمل الإعلامي في ظل التطورات التقنية والذكاء الاصطناعي، إلى جانب دور الإعلامي في صناعة المستقبل، والانتقال من الاكتفاء بنقل الخبر إلى تفسيره وفهم أبعاده.
وشهد اللقاء حوارًا ثريًا استعرض خلاله الشريان جانبًا من تجربته العريقة في العمل الإعلامي والصحفي، وما راكمته من خبرة في قراءة التحولات التي شهدتها الصناعة الإعلامية ومواكبتها، وأدار الحوار رئيس الوحدة الدكتور عبد العزيز آل سليمان بحضور نائب رئيس الجامعة للشؤون الأكاديمية الدكتور عبد الله المهيدب، في لقاء جمع بين التجربة المهنية والنقاش الأكاديمي، وفتح مساحة للتفاعل المباشر مع الطلبة حول واقع الممارسة الإعلامية وتحولاتها ومستقبلها.
وأكدت عميدة كلية الآداب د. مشاعل العكلي أن استضافة الشخصيات والخبرات الوطنية تمثل أحد المسارات التي تحرص الكلية على تفعيلها؛ لما تتيحه من فرص لمد جسور التواصل بين الطلبة والتجارب المهنية الرائدة، وإثراء معارفهم من خلال الحوار المباشر مع أصحاب الخبرة والممارسة.
وأشارت إلى أن وحدة الثقافة والفنون تؤدي دورًا فاعلًا في هذا الجانب من خلال تصميم وتنفيذ برامج ولقاءات تستقطب شخصيات ذات تجارب متنوعة، بما يعزز حضور الثقافة والإعلام والفنون في البيئة الجامعية، ويفتح للطلبة مساحات للتعلم والحوار واكتشاف آفاق جديدة تتصل بتخصصاتهم واهتماماتهم، مؤكدةً حرص الكلية على مواصلة هذه المبادرات التي تجمع بين المعرفة والتجربة، وتدعم بناء جيل واعٍ بالتحولات التي يشهدها المجال الإعلامي والثقافي.
Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University, represented by the College of Arts, hosted the media personality and journalist Dawood Al-Sharyan as part of the programs and activities of the Culture and Arts Unit, aimed at enriching cultural and media engagement and enhancing communication with national experiences and expertise in various fields. The hosting took place during a media dialogue session that discussed several transformations in the media landscape, most notably the changes in news production in the era of platforms and algorithms, the future of media work in light of technological advancements and artificial intelligence, as well as the role of the media professional in shaping the future, transitioning from merely reporting news to interpreting it and understanding its dimensions.
The meeting featured a rich dialogue in which Al-Sharyan shared aspects of his extensive experience in media and journalism, highlighting the expertise he has accumulated in reading the transformations within the media industry and keeping pace with them. The dialogue was moderated by the head of the unit, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Sulaiman, in the presence of the university's Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhaideb, in a gathering that combined professional experience with academic discussion, opening a space for direct interaction with students regarding the realities of media practice, its transformations, and its future.
Dr. Mashail Al-Akli, Dean of the College of Arts, emphasized that hosting national figures and experts represents one of the pathways that the college is keen to activate; as it provides opportunities to build bridges of communication between students and pioneering professional experiences, enriching their knowledge through direct dialogue with those who have expertise and practice.
She pointed out that the Culture and Arts Unit plays an active role in this regard by designing and implementing programs and meetings that attract personalities with diverse experiences, thereby enhancing the presence of culture, media, and arts in the university environment, and opening up spaces for students to learn, engage in dialogue, and discover new horizons related to their specializations and interests. She affirmed the college's commitment to continuing these initiatives that combine knowledge and experience, supporting the development of a generation aware of the transformations taking place in the media and cultural fields.
