أكد متحدث الجيش الباكستاني أحمد شريف تشودري أن اتفاقية مكة ذات طابع دفاعي وتهدف إلى تحقيق الردع الجماعي، مشيراً إلى أن تفاصيلها التشغيلية تظل سرية.
وقال تشودري لـ«العربية» إن الاتفاقية تتضمن التزامات دفاعية لن يتم الكشف عنها علناً، مؤكداً أنها لن تؤثر على علاقة باكستان بإيران.
وأدان هجمات مليشيات الحوثي، مشدداً على أن بلاده تسعى من خلال الوساطة إلى الإسهام في إحلال السلام في المنطقة.
Pakistani Army spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that the Makkah Agreement is of a defensive nature and aims to achieve collective deterrence, noting that its operational details remain confidential.
Chaudhry told Al Arabiya that the agreement includes defensive commitments that will not be disclosed publicly, emphasizing that it will not affect Pakistan's relationship with Iran.
He condemned the attacks by the Houthi militias, stressing that his country seeks to contribute to peace in the region through mediation.
