أدان الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية نبيل فهمي، واستنكر، محاولة استهداف مكة المكرمة بطائرة مسيّرة، بعد إعلان السعودية اعتراضها وتدميرها جنوب مدينة مكة المكرمة قبل دخولها المجال الجوي المحظور للعاصمة المقدسة، مؤكداً أن المساس بأمن مكة المكرمة وحرمة المقدسات الإسلامية يمثل أمراً بالغ الخطورة، لما تنطوي عليه مثل هذه الأعمال من تهديد لأمن المملكة العربية السعودية وسلامة المواطنين والمقيمين وقاصدي بيت الله الحرام، فضلاً عما تمثله من استفزاز لمشاعر المسلمين في العالم أجمع.
تهديد استقرار المنطقة
وأكد الأمين العام أن هذا التطور يأتي في سياق تصعيد متواصل من جانب مليشيا الحوثي، شمل خلال الأيام الأخيرة استهداف أراضي المملكة ومنشآتها وأعيانها المدنية، بما يفاقم التوتر الإقليمي ويهدد أمن واستقرار المنطقة، مشيراً إلى أن استمرار هذه الهجمات يؤكد الحاجة إلى وقف هذا المسار الخطير، واحترام قواعد القانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، والالتزام بقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، ولا سيما القرار 2216 (2015)، الذي يطالب مليشيا الحوثي بالامتناع عن أي استفزازات أو تهديدات للدول المجاورة.
أمن السعودية ركيزة أساسية
وشدد الأمين العام على أن أمن المملكة واستقرارها يمثلان ركيزة أساسية لأمن واستقرار المنطقة، مؤكداً تضامن جامعة الدول العربية الكامل مع المملكة ودعمها لكل ما تتخذه من إجراءات لحماية أراضيها وأمنها والحفاظ على حرمة المقدسات الإسلامية، مشيداً بكفاءة ويقظة قوات الدفاع الجوي الملكي السعودي في إحباط هذه المحاولة.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, condemned and denounced the attempt to target the holy city of Mecca with a drone, following Saudi Arabia's announcement of intercepting and destroying it south of the city of Mecca before it entered the restricted airspace of the holy capital. He emphasized that any attack on the security of Mecca and the sanctity of Islamic holy sites is extremely serious, as such actions pose a threat to the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the safety of its citizens, residents, and those visiting the Sacred House of God, in addition to being a provocation to the feelings of Muslims worldwide.
Threat to Regional Stability
The Secretary-General confirmed that this development comes in the context of a continuous escalation by the Houthi militia, which has recently included targeting the territories and facilities of the Kingdom, as well as its civilian assets, exacerbating regional tensions and threatening the security and stability of the area. He pointed out that the continuation of these attacks underscores the need to halt this dangerous trajectory, respect the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter, and adhere to the relevant Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 (2015), which calls on the Houthi militia to refrain from any provocations or threats to neighboring countries.
The Security of Saudi Arabia is a Fundamental Pillar
The Secretary-General stressed that the security and stability of the Kingdom are fundamental pillars for the security and stability of the region, affirming the full solidarity of the Arab League with the Kingdom and its support for all measures it takes to protect its territory and security and to uphold the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, commending the efficiency and vigilance of the Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces in thwarting this attempt.
