يصنّف كود الطرق السعودي مرافق مواقف المركبات إلى ثلاثة أنواع رئيسة، تُحدَّد وفق مواقعها وطبيعة تصميمها، بما يضمن تنظيمها ومواءمة تخطيطها مع احتياجات الطرق والمنشآت والمستخدمين، ويعزز جودة الحياة ومستويات الأمان والكفاءة في شبكة الطرق.
ويشمل التصنيف المواقف الواقعة على الطريق، وهي المساحات المخصصة لوقوف المركبات على جانبيه، وتُعد جزءًا من بيئة الطريق المباشرة. كما يشمل المواقف الواقعة خارج الطريق، التي تُنشأ بوصفها مرافق مستقلة بعيدة عن الحركة المرورية؛ مثل الساحات المخصصة لاستيعاب المركبات خارج المسار الرئيس. أما النوع الثالث فهو المواقف متعددة الطوابق، التي تُنفذ داخل مبانٍ أو منشآت فوق سطح الأرض أو تحته، لتوفير مساحات منظمة ومرنة لوقوف المركبات.
ويمثل الكود مرجعًا فنيًا شاملًا للجهات المعنية بقطاع الطرق، إذ يوفّر الإرشادات والمعايير والرسومات الفنية اللازمة لتخطيط الطرق وتصميمها وتنفيذها وتشغيلها وصيانتها، مع مراعاة الاشتراطات البيئية ومتطلبات السلامة، بما يضمن بلوغ الحد الأدنى المقبول من الجودة والكفاءة والاستدامة.
كما يسهم (الكود) في توحيد المعايير الفنية والتشغيلية على مستوى المملكة، عبر منظومة تنظيمية متكاملة تغطي دورة حياة الطريق من التصميم والإنشاء إلى التشغيل والصيانة، بما يعزز الامتثال التشريعي ويرفع جودة الأعمال بشكل منهجي ومستدام، ويواكب مستهدفات تطوير قطاع الطرق وتحسين تجربة مستخدميه.
The Saudi Road Code classifies vehicle parking facilities into three main types, determined by their locations and design nature, ensuring their organization and aligning their planning with the needs of roads, facilities, and users, thereby enhancing the quality of life and levels of safety and efficiency in the road network.
The classification includes on-road parking, which are designated areas for vehicle parking on either side of the road and are considered part of the immediate road environment. It also includes off-road parking, which are established as independent facilities away from traffic flow; such as areas designated to accommodate vehicles outside the main route. The third type is multi-story parking, which is implemented within buildings or facilities above or below ground level, to provide organized and flexible spaces for vehicle parking.
The code serves as a comprehensive technical reference for stakeholders in the road sector, providing the necessary guidelines, standards, and technical drawings for planning, designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining roads, while considering environmental requirements and safety standards, ensuring the achievement of the minimum acceptable levels of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Additionally, the code contributes to standardizing technical and operational standards across the Kingdom, through an integrated regulatory system that covers the road life cycle from design and construction to operation and maintenance, thereby enhancing legislative compliance and systematically and sustainably improving the quality of work, in line with the objectives of developing the road sector and enhancing the user experience.
