تعقد هيئة كبار العلماء غدًا (الأحد) دورتها الـ99، برئاسة مفتي عام المملكة، رئيس هيئة كبار العلماء والرئيس العام للبحوث العلمية والإفتاء، الشيخ الدكتور صالح بن فوزان الفوزان، لمواصلة بحث القضايا الشرعية والنوازل المعاصرة، ودراسة الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول أعمالها.

وتواصل الهيئة، منذ تأسيسها عام 1391هـ (1971م)، أداء دورها بوصفها مرجعية إفتائية في المملكة، من خلال دراسة ما يُحال إليها من ولي الأمر والجهات المختصة، وإبداء الرأي الشرعي في القضايا العامة، وفق الأدلة الشرعية وأصول الاستنباط المعتبرة.
وخلال مسيرتها الممتدة لأكثر من خمسة عقود، ناقشت الهيئة 1127 موضوعاً، وأصدرت 251 قراراً في مختلف القضايا الشرعية، إلى جانب 28 بياناً تناولت عدداً من القضايا والمستجدات ذات الاهتمام العام.
وشهدت الهيئة على مدى مسيرتها مشاركة نخبة من كبار علماء المملكة، فيما طرأت على لائحة سير أعمالها تطورات تنظيمية، من أبرزها تعديلها عام 1414هـ، بما نص على تولي المفتي العام للمملكة رئاسة الهيئة، إلى جانب تنظيم مدة العضوية وعدد الأعضاء بما يعزز كفاءة أعمالها واستمراريتها.
وتبحث الدورة الـ99 الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول أعمالها، وما يستجد من قضايا ونوازل، تمهيداً لإصدار ما يلزم بشأنها من قرارات وتوصيات، بما يحقق مقاصد الشريعة الإسلامية ويحفظ مصالح المجتمع، ويعزز مكانة المملكة في خدمة الإسلام والعناية بالعلم الشرعي.
The Council of Senior Scholars will hold its 99th session tomorrow (Sunday), chaired by the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, the Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and the General President of Scientific Research and Ifta, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, to continue discussing legal issues and contemporary crises, and to study the topics listed on its agenda.

The council has been fulfilling its role as a fatwa authority in the Kingdom since its establishment in 1391 AH (1971 AD), by studying what is referred to it by the ruler and the relevant authorities, and providing legal opinions on public issues, in accordance with legal evidence and recognized principles of deduction.
During its journey spanning more than five decades, the council has discussed 1,127 topics and issued 251 decisions on various legal issues, in addition to 28 statements addressing several matters and developments of public interest.
Throughout its history, the council has witnessed the participation of a select group of the Kingdom's senior scholars, while its operational procedures have undergone organizational developments, the most notable of which was the amendment in 1414 AH, which stipulated that the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom would chair the council, alongside organizing the duration of membership and the number of members to enhance the efficiency and continuity of its work.
The 99th session will discuss the topics listed on its agenda, as well as any new issues and crises, in preparation for issuing the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them, in a manner that achieves the objectives of Islamic law, preserves the interests of society, and enhances the Kingdom's position in serving Islam and caring for religious knowledge.
