أعربت دول خليجية وعربية ومنظمات إسلامية، عن ترحيبها ببيان أعضاء مجلس الأمن الصادر في 7 أغسطس الجاري، الذي دان الهجمات الصاروخية التي شنتها مليشيا الحوثي ضد المملكة العربية السعودية منذ 13 يوليو الماضي، والهجمات التي استهدفت السفن التجارية منذ 22 يوليو الماضي.
وأكدت، في بيانات صادرة عن وزارات خارجيتها، تقديرها لما تضمنه البيان من تأكيد ضرورة الالتزام بالقانون الدولي وقرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة، وفي مقدمتها القرار 2216، ورفض الأعمال التي تهدد الأمن الإقليمي وحقوق وحريات الملاحة البحرية.
وجددت الدول والمنظمات تضامنها الكامل مع المملكة العربية السعودية، ودعمها لكل ما تتخذه من إجراءات للحفاظ على سيادتها وأمنها، مؤكدة، أن أمن المملكة جزء لا يتجزأ من أمن دول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، كما جددت دعمها للحكومة اليمنية الشرعية، ولجهود المبعوث الخاص للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى اليمن، الرامية إلى تحقيق السلم والأمن والاستقرار في الجمهورية اليمنية.
Gulf and Arab countries, along with Islamic organizations, expressed their welcome for the statement issued by the members of the Security Council on August 7, which condemned the missile attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as the attacks targeting commercial ships since July 22.
They affirmed, in statements issued by their foreign ministries, their appreciation for the statement's emphasis on the necessity of adhering to international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216, and rejecting actions that threaten regional security and the rights and freedoms of maritime navigation.
The countries and organizations reiterated their full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their support for all measures it takes to maintain its sovereignty and security, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. They also renewed their support for the legitimate Yemeni government and for the efforts of the United Nations Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Yemen aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in the Republic of Yemen.
