قدّمت المملكة العربية السعودية الجامعة الإسلامية في المدينة المنورة، كنموذج تعليمي عالمي يعزّز قيم التعايش بين الثقافات والمواطنة العالمية، وذلك خلال مشاركتها في الدورة الـ224 للمجلس التنفيذي لليونسكو في باريس، ضمن مناقشة التوصية الخاصة بالتربية من أجل السلام وحقوق الإنسان.
وأكدت المملكة، في كلمتها، التزامها بنشر ثقافة السلام والتسامح والمساواة، وترسيخ احترام الآخر، ومواجهة التطرف بجميع أشكاله من خلال سياساتها التعليمية ومناهجها. وأشارت إلى أن الجامعة الإسلامية تحتضن طلابًا من 180 دولة في بيئة تعليمية تقوم على التنوع والاحترام المتبادل، ويتجلى ذلك في «مهرجان الثقافات والشعوب» السنوي.
كما أبرزت المملكة جهودها المؤسسية في تعزيز الحوار والتفاهم بين الشعوب، ومنها المركز العالمي لمكافحة الفكر المتطرف (اعتدال)، ومركز الملك عبدالعزيز للتواصل الحضاري، والمركز الإقليمي للحوار والسلام التابع لليونسكو، بوصفها نماذج وطنية وإقليمية داعمة لقيم التعايش والسلام.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presented the Islamic University in Medina as a global educational model that promotes values of coexistence among cultures and global citizenship during its participation in the 224th session of the UNESCO Executive Council in Paris, as part of the discussion on the recommendation regarding education for peace and human rights.
The Kingdom emphasized, in its speech, its commitment to spreading a culture of peace, tolerance, and equality, reinforcing respect for others, and confronting extremism in all its forms through its educational policies and curricula. It noted that the Islamic University hosts students from 180 countries in an educational environment based on diversity and mutual respect, which is evident in the annual "Festival of Cultures and Peoples."
The Kingdom also highlighted its institutional efforts to promote dialogue and understanding among peoples, including the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, and the UNESCO Regional Center for Dialogue and Peace, as national and regional models supporting the values of coexistence and peace.
