أعرب الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية جاسم محمد البديوي، عن إدانته الشديدة واستنكاره البالغ لاقتحام قنصلية دولة الكويت في مدينة البصرة بجمهورية العراق. وأكد، ضرورة أن تبادر الجهات المختصة في العراق فورًا إلى اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لمحاسبة المسؤولين عن هذا الاعتداء الخطير، واتخاذ كل ما يلزم لمنع تكرار مثل هذه الحوادث، التي تُعد انتهاكًا واضحًا وخروجًا عن القوانين والأعراف الدبلوماسية المنظمة لحماية المقرات والبعثات الدبلوماسية والعاملين فيها. كما شدد البديوي، على تضامن مجلس التعاون الكامل والثابت مع دولة الكويت في جميع الخطوات التي تتخذها ردًا على هذا الاعتداء الذي استهدف قنصليتها.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his strong condemnation and deep disapproval of the storming of the Consulate of the State of Kuwait in the city of Basra, Republic of Iraq. He emphasized the necessity for the relevant authorities in Iraq to immediately take the necessary measures to hold those responsible for this serious assault accountable, and to take all necessary steps to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, which are a clear violation and a departure from the laws and diplomatic norms that govern the protection of diplomatic premises and missions and their personnel. Al-Budaiwi also stressed the full and unwavering solidarity of the Gulf Cooperation Council with the State of Kuwait in all steps it takes in response to this assault that targeted its consulate.
