تضاربت المعلومات حول إمكانية استمرار المحادثات بين أمريكا وإيران، وأكّد التلفزيون الإيراني اليوم (الأحد) أن إيران لم تشارك في المحادثات الفنية المقررة اليوم بسبب الهجمات الأخيرة وعدم الوفاء بالشروط.
ونقلت صحيفة «وول ستريت جورنال» عن مصادر مطلعة أن خطط استئناف محادثات سويسرا بين أمريكا وإيران هذا الأسبوع توقفت في ظل تجدد الضربات بين البلدين.
وقال مسؤول أمريكي لصحيفة «نيويورك تايمز» إن جميع الطائرات المسيرة والصواريخ التي أطلقتها إيران في أحدث موجة من الهجمات جرى اعتراضها أو فشلت في الوصول إلى أهدافها المقصودة.
وأوضح المسؤول أنه لم تُسجل أي إصابات بين القوات الأمريكية، كما لم تتأثر أي قواعد عسكرية أمريكية.
وأشار المسؤول للصحيفة إلى أن المحادثات التقنية مع إيران لا تزال مقررة خلال الأيام القادمة، ولم تُلغَ أي محادثات رغم الضربات، مبيناً أن تبادل الرسائل مستمر عبر قنوات لتجنب التصعيد.
وأكد الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة قد تصل إلى نقطة لا تعود قادرة فيها على التحكم بأعصابها أو التصرف بعقلانية جراء الاستفزازات الإيرانية ومحاولاتها لربط ملف مضيق هرمز بملف جبهة جنوب لبنان.
ومنح ترمب غطاء سياسياً مطلقاً للقيادة المركزية الأمريكية للرد الفوري على أي تحرك عسكري إيراني، فيما أكّد نائب الرئيس جي دي فانس أن فرصة الحل الدبلوماسي تبخرت بعد رفض طهران القنوات الخلفية، لتنتقل واشنطن رسمياً من مرحلة «حسن النوايا» إلى تفعيل خيار الردع العسكري الشامل لحماية خطوط الملاحة بالسواحل العُمانية والدولية.
