لورا وير تولّت منصب الرئيس التنفيذي لمجلس الأزياء البريطاني في أبريل 2025 خلفًا لكارولين راش، وجاء اختيارها بفضل خبرتها الطويلة في الصحافة والإدارة الإبداعية.
منذ استلامها المنصب اتخذت قرارات جريئة أبرزها إلغاء رسوم المشاركة في أسبوع الموضة بلندن، وتأمين تمويل إضافي لبرنامج NewGen وزيادة المنح الدراسية للمصممين الشباب.
كما أطلقت مبادرة Fashion Assembly لربط المصممين بمدارسهم وتشجيع المواهب خارج لندن. رؤيتها تقوم على «إعادة التهيئة» وإدخال الموضة البريطانية في عصر جديد أكثر دعمًا وشمولية، وقد ظهرت النتائج مبكرًا بزيادة عدد العروض لموسم ربيع وصيف 2026 واستقطاب اهتمام عالمي متجدد.
Laura Weir took over as the Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council in April 2025, succeeding Caroline Rush, and her selection was due to her extensive experience in journalism and creative management.
Since assuming the position, she has made bold decisions, most notably eliminating participation fees for London Fashion Week, securing additional funding for the NewGen program, and increasing scholarships for young designers.
She also launched the Fashion Assembly initiative to connect designers with their schools and encourage talent outside of London. Her vision is based on "reconfiguration" and introducing British fashion into a new, more supportive and inclusive era, with early results seen in the increased number of shows for the Spring/Summer 2026 season and renewed global interest.
