شاركت المملكة العربية السعودية في أول اجتماعات مجلس محافظي الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية، التي عُقدت خلال الفترة من 17 حتى 21 نوفمبر 2025، وذلك بصفتها عضواً في المجلس من العام الجاري 2025 حتى العام 2027.
وتأتي مشاركة المملكة تأكيداً على دورها الفاعل في تطوير العمل النووي السلمي، حيث تركز المملكة من خلال عضويتها في المجلس على العديد من الجوانب مثل تعزيز الاستخدامات السلمية للطاقة، وتمكين الدول النامية من التقنيات النووية، وتعزيز الجهود الدولية لمنع انتشار الأسلحة النووية.
يذكر أن المجلس يضم 35 دولة عضواً، ويعمل على آلية تنفيذ سياسات الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية وبرامجها، ودراسة ميزانيتها والخطط التشغيلية، واعتماد معايير الأمان والسلامة، ويمثّل المملكة في المجلس سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى جمهورية النمسا المندوب الدائم للمملكة لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية في فيينا محافظ المملكة لدى مجلس محافظي الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية الدكتور عبدالله بن خالد طوله.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the first meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which were held from November 17 to 21, 2025, as a member of the board from this year 2025 until 2027.
The Kingdom's participation reaffirms its active role in the development of peaceful nuclear work, as it focuses through its membership in the board on many aspects such as promoting the peaceful uses of energy, enabling developing countries with nuclear technologies, and enhancing international efforts to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons.
It is noteworthy that the board consists of 35 member states and works on the implementation mechanisms of the policies and programs of the International Atomic Energy Agency, studying its budget and operational plans, and adopting safety and security standards. The Kingdom is represented in the board by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Austria, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, Governor of the Kingdom at the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Dr. Abdullah bin Khalid Tulu.
