تجاوز حجم التبادل التجاري بين المملكة العربية السعودية والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية خلال الأعوام العشرة الماضية 500 مليار دولار، ما يجعلها ثاني أكبر شريك للمملكة في الواردات. وشهد حجم التبادل التجاري منذ عام 2020 معدل نمو يتجاوز 50%، مما يعكس عمق ومتانة العلاقات الاقتصادية بين البلدين، والشراكات الإستراتيجية النوعية التي تسهم في تعزيز تنافسية القطاعات الحيوية، وجذب الاستثمارات النوعية، وتوسيع نطاق التعاون التجاري بما يدعم الازدهار الاقتصادي للبلدين.
وفي عام 2024، بلغ حجم التبادل التجاري نحو 33 مليار دولار، إذ جاءت الأسمدة والمنتجات الكيماوية العضوية كأهم السلع السعودية المُصدَّرة، فيما جاءت المراجل والآلات والأجهزة والأدوات الآلية، إضافة إلى السيارات وقطع غيارها، كأهم السلع الأمريكية المستوردة بقيمة إجمالية بلغت 9 مليارات دولار. وسجل التبادل التجاري بين البلدين حتى النصف الأول من عام 2025 -بحسب البيانات الأولية- نحو 16 مليار دولار.
ويؤدي مجلس التجارة والاستثمار السعودي الأمريكي (TIFA) الذي تترأسه الهيئة العامة للتجارة الخارجية، دورًا مهمًا في تعزيز العلاقات التجارية بين البلدين، إذ يهدف إلى متابعة العلاقات التجارية والاستثمارية، والتعرّف على فرص توسيع التجارة والاستثمار، والعمل على إزالة العوائق التي تعترض التدفق التجاري والاستثماري، إضافةً إلى تعزيز بيئة العمل التجارية والاستثمارية، وتسهيل سبل التواصل بين قطاعات البلدين.
وأسهم المجلس في الاتفاق على 27 مبادرة في مجالات متعددة تشمل المواصفات والمقاييس، والغذاء والدواء، والذكاء الاصطناعي، والملكية الفكرية، ويضم في عضويته 11 جهة حكومية سعودية تعمل على مناقشة القضايا التجارية والاستثمارية بين البلدين وفق نطاقٍ محدد.
يذكر أن الهيئة العامة للتجارة الخارجية تعمل على تنمية العلاقات التجارية الثنائية من خلال مجالس التنسيق واللجان الحكومية المشتركة، إضافةً إلى تمكين صادرات المملكة غير النفطية من النفاذ إلى الأسواق الخارجية، والمساعدة في تذليل مختلف التحديات التي تواجهها.
The volume of trade between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America has exceeded 500 billion dollars over the past ten years, making it the second largest partner for the Kingdom in imports. Since 2020, the volume of trade has witnessed a growth rate exceeding 50%, reflecting the depth and strength of economic relations between the two countries, and the qualitative strategic partnerships that contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of vital sectors, attracting quality investments, and expanding the scope of trade cooperation to support the economic prosperity of both countries.
In 2024, the volume of trade reached approximately 33 billion dollars, with fertilizers and organic chemical products being the most important Saudi exports. Meanwhile, boilers, machinery, devices, and mechanical tools, in addition to cars and their spare parts, were the most significant American imports, with a total value of 9 billion dollars. The trade exchange between the two countries recorded, by the first half of 2025 - according to preliminary data - about 16 billion dollars.
The Saudi-American Trade and Investment Council (TIFA), chaired by the Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade, plays an important role in enhancing trade relations between the two countries. It aims to monitor trade and investment relations, identify opportunities for expanding trade and investment, work to remove obstacles hindering trade and investment flow, in addition to enhancing the business and investment environment, and facilitating communication between the sectors of both countries.
The council has contributed to agreeing on 27 initiatives in various fields, including standards and specifications, food and medicine, artificial intelligence, and intellectual property, and includes 11 Saudi governmental entities that work on discussing trade and investment issues between the two countries within a specific framework.
It is worth mentioning that the General Authority for Foreign Trade works on developing bilateral trade relations through coordination councils and joint governmental committees, in addition to enabling the Kingdom's non-oil exports to access foreign markets and assisting in overcoming various challenges they face.
