شاركت المملكة العربية السعودية في أعمال الدورة الثالثة والخمسين لمجلس التنمية الصناعية (IDB) التابع لمنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية (UNIDO)، المنعقدة في العاصمة النمساوية فيينا، بحضور نائب وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية لشؤون الصناعة المهندس خليل بن إبراهيم بن سلمة، وسفير المملكة لدى النمسا المندوب الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة والمنظمات الدولية في فيينا الدكتور عبدالله بن خالد طولة، وعدد من قيادات قطاعي الصناعة والتعدين.
وأكد ابن سلمة خلال كلمته أمام الدول الأعضاء استمرار المملكة في بناء قطاع صناعي تنافسي ومستدام، مستندة إلى موقعها الإستراتيجي، ومواردها الطبيعية، وبنيتها التحتية المتقدمة، مشدداً على أهمية تعزيز الشراكات الدولية ودعم التعاون بين القطاعين العام والخاص لتحقيق التنمية الصناعية المستدامة.
وناقش المجلس قضايا إستراتيجية وبرامجية ومالية، شملت تقرير المدير العام السنوي، وبرنامج العمل والموازنة للفترة 2026–2027، إضافة إلى التعاون مع أفريقيا، والصناعة المحايدة مناخياً، والاقتصاد الدائري، ودعم الدول متوسطة الدخل والأقل نمواً، إلى جانب التحضيرات للدورة الحادية والعشرين للمؤتمر العام للمنظمة.
وعلى هامش المشاركة، وقَّعت المملكة اتفاقية استضافة المؤتمر العام الحادي والعشرين لليونيدو، المقرر عقده في العاصمة الرياض خلال الفترة من 23 إلى 27 نوفمبر 2025، كما نظّمت وزارة الصناعة والثروة المعدنية فعالية ترويجية استعرضت خلالها استعدادات المملكة لاستضافة الحدث، وأبرز برامجها لدعم التحول الصناعي والابتكار.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participated in the proceedings of the fifty-third session of the Industrial Development Board (IDB) of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), held in the Austrian capital Vienna, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Engineer Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salama, the Kingdom's Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna, Dr. Abdullah bin Khalid Tula, along with several leaders from the industrial and mining sectors.
In his speech before the member states, Ibn Salama emphasized the Kingdom's commitment to building a competitive and sustainable industrial sector, relying on its strategic location, natural resources, and advanced infrastructure, stressing the importance of enhancing international partnerships and supporting cooperation between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable industrial development.
The council discussed strategic, programmatic, and financial issues, including the annual report of the Director-General, the work program and budget for the period 2026–2027, in addition to cooperation with Africa, climate-neutral industry, the circular economy, and support for middle-income and least developed countries, along with preparations for the twenty-first session of the organization's General Conference.
On the sidelines of the participation, the Kingdom signed an agreement to host the twenty-first General Conference of UNIDO, scheduled to be held in the capital Riyadh from November 23 to 27, 2025. The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources also organized a promotional event showcasing the Kingdom's preparations to host the event and highlighting its key programs to support industrial transformation and innovation.
