وقّع الرئيس التنفيذي للصندوق السعودي للتنمية سلطان بن عبدالرحمن المرشد، مع وزير الاقتصاد والتخطيط بالجمهورية التونسية الدكتور سمير عبدالحفيظ؛ اتفاقية قرض تنموي لتمويل مشروع إنشاء قطب واحي بالجنوب التونسي بقيمة تتجاوز (38) مليون دولار، بحضور سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى الجمهورية التونسية الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن علي الصقر، حيث تجسّد هذه الاتفاقية الشراكة التنموية الوثيقة التي تمتد لحوالى (50) عاماً بين الجانبين.
ويهدف هذا المشروع إلى استصلاح الأراضي الزراعية في مختلف المناطق التونسية بمساحة تتجاوز (1000) هكتار، وحفر وتجهيز (22) بئراً، وتوسعة القُرى ومرافقها، وإنشاء أكثر من (285) مسكناً للمستفيدين، وتعزيز البنية التحتية في مختلف المناطق من خلال إنشاء الطرق، وخطوط أنابيب وشبكات ضخ وتوزيع المياه الصالحة للشرب والري الزراعي، والمرافق الحيوية التي تعزز الإنتاج الزراعي، فضلاً عن المرافق التعليمية والمراكز الثقافية والاجتماعية والتجارية، مما يعزز النمو والازدهار الاجتماعي والاقتصادي في مختلف المناطق التونسية.
وتأتي هذه الاتفاقية في إطار نشاط الصندوق السعودي للتنمية للإسهام في تعزيز الفرص التنموية والحيوية في تونس، من خلال تمويل مشروعات وبرامج تنموية مستدامة لدعم البنية التحتية، وتحسين مستوى المعيشة، وتعزيز النمو الاقتصادي، نحو تحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة والركائز الرئيسة في المسيرة الإنمائية.
يذكر أن نشاط الصندوق السعودي للتنمية في الجمهورية التونسية بدأ منذ عام (1975م)، إذ قدّم على مدى خمسة عقود التمويل لتنفيذ (32) مشروعاً وبرنامجاً إنمائياً من خلال قروض تنموية ميسّرة تتجاوز قيمتها (1.2) مليار دولار، إضافةً إلى المنح المقدمة من المملكة من خلال الصندوق بقيمة تصل إلى أكثر من (105) ملايين دولار.
The CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Murshid, signed a development loan agreement with the Minister of Economy and Planning of the Republic of Tunisia, Dr. Samir Abdelhafidh, to finance the project for the establishment of an oasis hub in southern Tunisia, with a value exceeding (38) million dollars. This event was attended by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Tunisia, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Saqr. This agreement embodies the close developmental partnership that has extended for nearly (50) years between the two sides.
This project aims to reclaim agricultural lands in various Tunisian regions, covering an area exceeding (1000) hectares, drilling and equipping (22) wells, expanding villages and their facilities, and constructing more than (285) housing units for beneficiaries. It also aims to enhance infrastructure in various areas by building roads, pipelines, and networks for pumping and distributing potable water and agricultural irrigation, as well as vital facilities that enhance agricultural production, in addition to educational facilities and cultural, social, and commercial centers, thereby promoting social and economic growth and prosperity in various Tunisian regions.
This agreement comes as part of the activities of the Saudi Fund for Development to contribute to enhancing developmental and vital opportunities in Tunisia, by financing sustainable development projects and programs to support infrastructure, improve living standards, and boost economic growth, towards achieving sustainable development goals and the main pillars of the developmental journey.
It is worth noting that the activities of the Saudi Fund for Development in the Republic of Tunisia began in (1975), during which it provided funding for the implementation of (32) development projects and programs through concessional development loans exceeding (1.2) billion dollars, in addition to grants provided by the Kingdom through the fund amounting to over (105) million dollars.
