عقد وزير الطاقة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، في الرياض، اجتماعاً مع الرئيس المعين لمؤتمر الأطراف لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية للتغيَّر المناخي «COP30» السفير أندريا كوريا دي لاغو، المقرر عقده هذا العام في نوفمبر القادم في مدينة بيليم في منطقة الأمازون بجمهورية البرازيل.
وناقش الجانبان، خلال الاجتماع فُرص التعاون في مجال العمل المناخي، والجهود المشتركة؛ لتحقيق أهداف ومبادئ اتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية بشأن تغيَّر المناخ واتفاق باريس، للوصول إلى مخرجات شمولية ومتوازنة وعملية تأخذ بالاعتبار الظروف الوطنية للدول الأعضاء، إلى جانب استعراض مبادرات المملكة وجهودها في التعامل مع آثار التغير المناخي، مثل: استغلال مصادر الطاقة المتجددة، وإدارة وخفض الانبعاثات وإزالتها، من خلال مبادرتي «السعودية الخضراء»، و«الشرق الأوسط الأخضر»، وتطبيق نهج الاقتصاد الدائري للكربون وتقنياته، وغيره من البرامج والمبادرات الوطنية والإقليمية.
يذكر أنه من المقرر عقد مؤتمر الأطراف لاتفاقية الأمم المتحدة الإطارية للتغيَّر المناخي «COP30» في شهر نوفمبر 2025، بمدينة بيليم في منطقة الأمازون بجمهورية البرازيل.

The Minister of Energy, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, held a meeting in Riyadh with the appointed president of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change "COP30," Ambassador Andrea Correa de Lago, which is scheduled to take place this November in the city of Belém in the Amazon region of the Republic of Brazil.
During the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of climate action and joint efforts to achieve the goals and principles of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, aiming for comprehensive, balanced, and practical outcomes that take into account the national circumstances of member states. They also reviewed the Kingdom's initiatives and efforts in addressing the impacts of climate change, such as utilizing renewable energy sources, managing and reducing emissions, and removing them through the "Saudi Green" and "Middle East Green" initiatives, as well as implementing the circular carbon economy approach and its technologies, among other national and regional programs and initiatives.
