The Saudi Credit Bureau "SIMAH" launched the developed version of the "Malam" platform for individuals during the Money20/20 Middle East conference, in a move that reflects a qualitative shift in the beneficiary's experience, from merely accessing credit information to understanding it, interacting with it, and benefiting from it in making more informed financial decisions.
The developed version of Malam offers a comprehensive digital experience designed around the individual's financial and credit needs and behavior, by simplifying information and transforming credit data into practical knowledge that is understandable and beneficial. This enables the beneficiary to form a more comprehensive picture of their credit status, understand their existing obligations and the factors associated with them, and monitor them through a clearer and easier experience.
The developed dashboard consolidates the individual's credit obligations in one place, including obligations related to "Buy Now, Pay Later" services, and presents them in a way that helps the individual read their financial and credit status in an interconnected manner, instead of dealing with each piece of information or obligation separately.
The "Credit Assessment Simulator" is one of the most prominent elements of the new experience, as it allows the beneficiary to move from reading their current credit status to exploring the approximate impact of potential financial decisions before making them. The simulator enables the user to input several variables related to their obligations and credit products, and explore their potential reflection on their credit assessment, helping them understand the relationship between financial behavior and credit outcomes more clearly.
The importance of this experience lies in the fact that it does not merely provide the beneficiary with a number or abstract information, but rather gives them context that helps them interpret it and understand the influencing factors; thus becoming more capable of evaluating their options, reviewing their obligations, and predicting the impact of their decisions before making them, which enhances the concept of the individual's conscious participation in managing their credit situation.
For his part, the CEO of SIMAH, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Qudairi, confirmed that the launch of the developed "Malam" represents an evolution in the concept of credit solutions directed at individuals, explaining that SIMAH's goal is not limited to providing credit information, but extends to empowering the beneficiary to understand it in a way that helps them make decisions. He added that the new experience is designed to make data more accessible and clear, providing individuals with tools that help them explore the impact of their financial choices and understand their potential reflection on their credit status.
Al-Qudairi explained that enhancing credit culture begins with transforming information into knowledge, and knowledge into the ability to plan and make decisions, emphasizing SIMAH's commitment to continue developing Malam to be an empowering tool for consumers that helps them read their credit reality, understand their options, and plan more consciously for their financial future.
The development of "Malam" comes as an extension of SIMAH's efforts to enhance its digital services aimed at individuals and to promote financial and credit culture by employing data and modern technologies to build experiences centered around the beneficiary, helping to transform credit information from data to be viewed into knowledge that can be utilized in planning and decision-making.
The launch of the developed "Malam" reflects the evolution of the role of credit solutions for individuals from providing information to enabling the beneficiary to understand it, interact with it, and predict what comes after the decision and its impact; thus enhancing transparency and awareness, and contributing to building a more sustainable financial and credit behavior.
