صعد الدولار أمس (الأربعاء)، بعدما جاء تضخم أسعار المستهلكين في الولايات المتحدة في يوليو متوافقاً مع توقعات خبراء الاقتصاد، في حين قلص المتعاملون توقعاتهم بشأن موعد إقدام مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي (البنك المركزي الأمريكي) على رفع أسعار الفائدة.
وزاد المؤشر الأساسي لأسعار المستهلكين 2.5 بالمئة خلال 12 شهراً حتى يوليو بعد ارتفاعه 2.6 بالمئة في يونيو.
وارتفع مؤشر الدولار، الذي يقيس أداء الدولار مقابل سلة من ست عملات رئيسة، 0.17 بالمئة إلى 99.98 نقطة.
وانخفض اليورو 0.14 بالمئة إلى 1.1524 دولار، وتراجع الين 0.1 بالمئة إلى 159.45 للدولار، ونزل الدولار النيوزيلندي 0.37 بالمئة إلى 0.5857 دولار أمريكي.
The dollar rose yesterday (Wednesday), after the consumer price inflation in the United States for July came in line with economists' expectations, while traders reduced their forecasts regarding when the Federal Reserve (the U.S. central bank) would raise interest rates.
The core consumer price index increased by 2.5 percent over the 12 months leading up to July, after rising by 2.6 percent in June.
The dollar index, which measures the dollar's performance against a basket of six major currencies, rose by 0.17 percent to 99.98 points.
The euro fell by 0.14 percent to 1.1524 dollars, the yen declined by 0.1 percent to 159.45 per dollar, and the New Zealand dollar dropped by 0.37 percent to 0.5857 U.S. dollars.
