أعلنت وزارة الداخلية تمكن جهاز أمن الدولة من إحباط مخطط إرهابي كان يستهدف إحدى المنشآت الحيوية في البلاد وضبط مواطن منضم إلى تنظيم (داعش) الإرهابي قبل تنفيذ مخططه، وذلك بعد عمليات رصد ومتابعة أمنية دقيقة.
وقالت وزارة الداخلية في بيان صحفي (الأربعاء) إن التحريات كشفت عن تلقي المتهم تدريبات تتعلق بصناعة المفرقعات والطائرات المسيّرة وقيامه بتصنيع طائرة مسيّرة بقصد استخدامها في تنفيذ مخططه الإرهابي واستهداف إحدى المنشآت الحيوية. وأشارت إلى أنه جرى اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحقه وإحالته إلى جهة الاختصاص لاستكمال التحقيقات واتخاذ ما يلزم وفقاً للقانون.
وأكدت الداخلية استمرار أجهزتها الأمنية في أعمالها الاستباقية لرصد ومواجهة أي أنشطة أو مخططات من شأنها تهديد أمن البلاد واستقرارها، مشددة على أنها لن تتهاون مع كل من تسول له نفسه المساس بأمن الوطن وسلامة المواطنين والمقيمين والتعامل بكل حزم مع أي أنشطة مشبوهة وفقاً لأحكام القانون.
The Ministry of Interior announced that the State Security Agency managed to thwart a terrorist plot targeting one of the vital facilities in the country and arrested a citizen affiliated with the terrorist organization (ISIS) before executing his plan, following precise surveillance and security monitoring operations.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release on Wednesday that investigations revealed the accused had received training related to the manufacture of explosives and drones, and that he had manufactured a drone with the intention of using it to execute his terrorist plan and target one of the vital facilities. It noted that necessary legal actions have been taken against him, and he has been referred to the competent authority to complete the investigations and take the necessary measures in accordance with the law.
The Ministry confirmed the continuation of its security agencies in proactive efforts to monitor and confront any activities or plans that could threaten the security and stability of the country, emphasizing that it will not tolerate anyone who dares to undermine the security of the nation and the safety of citizens and residents, and will deal firmly with any suspicious activities in accordance with the provisions of the law.
