قتل وأصيب عدد من عناصر مليشيا الحوثي الإرهابية، (الأربعاء)، إثر قصف استهدف تعزيزات شمالي محافظة الضالع، جنوبي اليمن.
وأكد مصدر ميداني أن مدفعية القوات الحكومية المشتركة وطيرانها المسيّر استهدفا تجمعات وتعزيزات لمليشيا الحوثي في محيط سوق الفاخر، غربي قعطبة، شمالي المحافظة، ما أسفر عن مقتل وإصابة عدد من عناصرها.
وأضاف أن القصف استهدف التعزيزات الحوثية أثناء تجمعها استعداداً لشن هجوم على مواقع القوات المشتركة. وأعلنت القوات الحكومية إسقاط 4 مسيّرات حوثية شمال مأرب.
ودفعت مليشيا الحوثي خلال الأيام والأسابيع الماضية، بتعزيزات كبيرة من محافظتي إب وذمار باتجاه خطوط التماس في جبهات القتال بمحافظة الضالع، بالتزامن مع تنفيذ هجمات واسعة، باءت جميعها بالفشل.
وشهدت مدينة المخا الساحلية النصيب الأكبر من التصعيد العسكري خلال الأيام الماضية، بعد أن تعرضت لأعنف موجة قصف صاروخي وبطائرات مسيّرة، في محاولة فاشلة من مليشيات الحوثي لإسقاطها عسكرياً والسيطرة الكاملة على الساحل الغربي.
وأفادت مصادر عسكرية بأن المليشيات أطلقت على مدينة المخا أكثر من 40 صاروخاً وطائرة مسيّرة، مستهدفة مواقع عسكرية وتجمعات سكنية ومحيط الميناء، في قصف عشوائي لم يسبق له مثيل منذ بداية التصعيد الأخير.
وأضافت المصادر أن الهدف الحقيقي من التصعيد على المخا هو تأمين نفوذ المليشيات على مضيق باب المندب، أحد أهم الممرات الملاحية في العالم، إلى جانب محاولة خنق المحافظات الجنوبية عسكرياً واقتصادياً وقطع خطوط الإمداد.
ويتزامن هذا التصعيد مع تحركات ميدانية للحوثيين في عدة جبهات شمالية، في محاولة لفتح جبهات ضغط متعددة في مواجهة القوات الحكومية وقوات المقاومة الوطنية.
وتعد مدينة المخا ذات أهمية إستراتيجية كبرى، كونها بوابة الساحل الغربي وميناء رئيسياً يربط اليمن بالعالم، وسيطرة المليشيا عليها تعني تهديداً مباشراً لحركة الملاحة الدولية في البحر الأحمر وباب المندب، فيما تواصل القوات المشتركة التصدي لمحاولات التقدم الحوثية في محيط المدينة.
ويخشى مراقبون من أن يؤدي استمرار التصعيد إلى تصعيد إقليمي أوسع يهدد أمن الملاحة الدولية في واحدة من أكثر نقاط الاختناق البحري حساسية في العالم.
A number of elements of the Houthi terrorist militia were killed and injured on (Wednesday) as a result of shelling that targeted reinforcements in the northern part of Al-Dhale'e governorate, southern Yemen.
A field source confirmed that the artillery of the joint government forces and their drones targeted gatherings and reinforcements of the Houthi militia around the Al-Fakher market, west of Qatabah, in the northern part of the governorate, resulting in the death and injury of several of its members.
He added that the shelling targeted the Houthi reinforcements while they were gathering in preparation to launch an attack on the positions of the joint forces. The government forces announced the downing of 4 Houthi drones north of Marib.
Over the past days and weeks, the Houthi militia has sent large reinforcements from the governorates of Ibb and Dhamar towards the front lines in the combat zones of Al-Dhale'e governorate, coinciding with the execution of wide-ranging attacks, all of which have failed.
The coastal city of Al-Mokha has witnessed the largest share of military escalation in recent days, after it was subjected to the most intense wave of missile and drone strikes, in a failed attempt by the Houthi militias to capture it militarily and gain complete control over the western coast.
Military sources reported that the militias launched more than 40 missiles and drones at the city of Al-Mokha, targeting military sites, residential gatherings, and the vicinity of the port, in an unprecedented random shelling since the beginning of the recent escalation.
The sources added that the real goal of the escalation in Al-Mokha is to secure the militias' influence over the Bab al-Mandab Strait, one of the most important maritime passages in the world, alongside an attempt to militarily and economically strangle the southern governorates and cut off supply lines.
This escalation coincides with field movements by the Houthis on several northern fronts, in an attempt to open multiple pressure fronts against the government forces and the National Resistance Forces.
The city of Al-Mokha is of great strategic importance, as it is the gateway to the western coast and a major port that connects Yemen to the world. The militia's control over it poses a direct threat to international shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab, while the joint forces continue to confront the Houthi advancement attempts around the city.
Observers fear that the continuation of the escalation could lead to a broader regional escalation that threatens the security of international navigation in one of the most sensitive maritime choke points in the world.
