أكد المدير التنفيذي لوكالة الطاقة الدولية فاتح بيرول اليوم (الخميس) أن أسواق الطاقة العالمية تمر حالياً بـ«نقطة تحول حرجة»، مشيراً إلى أن قرار الوكالة بصرف 400 مليون برميل من الاحتياطيات الإستراتيجية أحدث تأثيراً قوياً على الأسواق.
وأوضح «بيرول» خلال مؤتمر صحفي عُقد في مدينة إسطنبول، أن قرار الوكالة جاء استجابةً مباشرة لإغلاق مضيق هرمز، وهو الممر الملاحي الأكثر أهمية لتجارة النفط عالمياً، مما أوجد حالة من عدم اليقين بشأن أمن الطاقة في الدول المستهلكة، وفقا لوكالات إعلامية غربية.
وتضمنت توصية الوكالة، التي تضم في عضويتها كبار الدول المستهلكة للنفط، الإفراج عن 400 مليون برميل من الاحتياطيات الإستراتيجية العالمية، وهو أكبر تدخل من نوعه في التاريخ، في خطوة تهدف للتخفيف من حدة واحدة من أسوأ صدمات أسعار النفط منذ سبعينيات القرن الماضي.
The Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, Fatih Birol, confirmed today (Thursday) that global energy markets are currently experiencing a "critical turning point," noting that the agency's decision to release 400 million barrels from strategic reserves has had a strong impact on the markets.
Birol explained during a press conference held in Istanbul that the agency's decision was a direct response to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which is the most important shipping route for global oil trade, creating a state of uncertainty regarding energy security in consuming countries, according to Western media reports.
The agency's recommendation, which includes major oil-consuming countries, involved the release of 400 million barrels from global strategic reserves, marking the largest intervention of its kind in history, in a move aimed at alleviating one of the worst oil price shocks since the 1970s.
