أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب عن خطط لإطلاق أول مصفاة نفط رئيسية جديدة في الولايات المتحدة منذ ما يقرب من نصف قرن، في براونزفيل بولاية تكساس، وبدعم من مجموعة «ريلاينس إندستريز» الهندية للطاقة.
وكشف ترمب عن المشروع الذي أطلقته مجموعة «أمريكا فيرست ريفاينينج» عبر منصة «تروث سوشال» واصفاً إياه بأنه انتصار هائل للعمال الأمريكيين وقطاع الطاقة وسكان جنوب تكساس.
وأشار الرئيس إلى أن المصفاة الجديدة ستساهم في دعم الأسواق الأمريكية وتعزيز الأمن القومي وزيادة إنتاج الطاقة الأمريكي وتحقيق عائدات اقتصادية بمليارات الدولارات، كما توجه ترمب بالشكر لشركة «ريلاينس» الهندية على هذا الاستثمار الضخم.
وفي حال اكتمال الخطة، فإنها ستكون هذه المصفاة أول مشروع تكرير رئيسي جديد يُطلق في الولايات المتحدة منذ 1977.
ويأتي هذا الإعلان في وقت تشهد أسواق الطاقة اضطرابات بسبب الحرب ضد إيران، وبالتزامن مع سعي البيت الأبيض لإيجاد سبل لكبح جماح ارتفاع أسعار الخام.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to launch the first major new oil refinery in the United States in nearly half a century, in Brownsville, Texas, with support from the Indian energy group "Reliance Industries."
Trump revealed the project, initiated by the "America First Refining" group, via the "Truth Social" platform, describing it as a tremendous victory for American workers, the energy sector, and the residents of South Texas.
The president noted that the new refinery will help support American markets, enhance national security, increase American energy production, and generate economic returns in the billions of dollars. Trump also thanked the Indian company "Reliance" for this massive investment.
If the plan is completed, this refinery will be the first major new refining project launched in the United States since 1977.
This announcement comes at a time when energy markets are experiencing disruptions due to the war against Iran, coinciding with the White House's efforts to find ways to curb rising crude oil prices.
