من جهته، أوضح رئيس مجلس الاحتياط الاتحادي جيروم باول، أنهم في وضع جيد يسمح لهم بانتظار تطورات الاقتصاد، قبل اتخاذ أي خطوات أخرى.

وبعد أسبوعين من الجدال السياسي والقانوني المكثف بين مسؤولي مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي (البنك المركزي) الأمريكي وإدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب، سيسعى مجلس الاحتياطي الفيدرالي إلى جعل اجتماع هذا الأسبوع بشأن أسعار الفائدة بسيطاً وهادئاً قدر الإمكان، رغم أن الرئيس ترمب على الأرجح لن يرضى بالنتيجة.
ومن شبه المؤكد أن لجنة السوق المفتوحة المعنية بإدارة أسعار الفائدة في البنك المركزي الأمريكي ستبقي على سعر الفائدة الرئيسية دون تغيير في نطاق يراوح بين 3.5% و3.75%، بعد ثلاثة تخفيضات متتالية بمقدار ربع نقطة مئوية في كل مرة خلال العام الماضي.

Political Debate
After two weeks of intense political and legal debate between officials of the U.S. Federal Reserve (the central bank) and the administration of President Donald Trump, the Federal Reserve will seek to make this week's meeting on interest rates as simple and calm as possible, although President Trump is likely to be dissatisfied with the outcome.
It is almost certain that the Federal Open Market Committee, which manages interest rates at the U.S. central bank, will keep the main interest rate unchanged in a range between 3.5% and 3.75%, following three consecutive cuts of a quarter percentage point each during the past year.
