ارتفعت أسعار الذهب وسط تفاؤل بخفض مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي (البنك المركزي الأمريكي) أسعار الفائدة الأسبوع القادم، في وقت ارتفعت أسعار الفضة إلى مستوى قياسي. وصعد الذهب في المعاملات الفورية بنسبة 1%، إلى 4212.16 دولار للأوقية (الأونصة)، لكنه يتجه لتكبد خسارة أسبوعية 0.4%.
كما زادت الفضة 2.6% إلى 58.59 دولار، لتسجل ارتفاعاً 4% خلال الأسبوع، بعد أن لامست مستوى قياسياً بلغ 59.32 دولار في وقت سابق.
وقفزت الفضة 98% هذا العام، مدعومة بالعجز في المعروض وإدراجها على قائمة المعادن الحرجة في الولايات المتحدة، بينما استقر البلاتين عند 1646.10 دولار، في حين ارتفع البلاديوم 0.3% إلى 1453.39 دولار.
ويتوقع خبراء أن يقرر مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي في اجتماعه يومي التاسع والعاشر من ديسمبر الجاري خفض سعر الفائدة 25 نقطة أساس.
Gold prices rose amid optimism that the Federal Reserve (the U.S. central bank) will lower interest rates next week, while silver prices reached a record high. Gold increased in spot transactions by 1% to $4,212.16 per ounce, but is on track to incur a weekly loss of 0.4%.
Silver also rose by 2.6% to $58.59, marking a 4% increase for the week, after touching a record level of $59.32 earlier.
Silver has surged 98% this year, supported by supply shortages and its inclusion on the list of critical minerals in the United States, while platinum remained stable at $1,646.10, and palladium rose by 0.3% to $1,453.39.
Experts expect the Federal Reserve to decide at its meeting on December 9 and 10 to cut the interest rate by 25 basis points.
