أول رسالة «سويفت» مصرفية في سورية بعد 14 عاماً من التوقف

The Central Bank of Syria announced the sending of the first banking message via the international payment system (SWIFT) in a move considered the first since the system was suspended 14 years ago due to the sanctions imposed during the previous regime.

The bank's governor, Dr. Abdul Qadir Hasria, executed the sending operation to the bank's correspondents around the world, indicating the beginning of a new phase in reconnecting the Syrian banking sector with international financial networks.

The resumption of work with the system enhances the confidence of international partners and establishes the foundation for developing messaging and transfer services.

SWIFT is the global standard for exchanging messages and financial data between banks.
