طلب الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، أن يستخدم الفحم في قطاع الطاقة بمنطقة الشرق الأقصى الروسية بشكل أكثر فعالية، خصوصا في ظل نقص محتمل في الغاز، بينما احتياطيات الفحم تكفي لمدة ألف عام.
وأشار بوتين خلال عرض نتائج تطوير مقاطعات الشرق الأقصى الذي يجري في إطار المنتدى الاقتصادي الشرقي الروسي إلى أنه سيعقد في وقت لاحق اليوم، اجتماعاً بشأن تطوير مجال الطاقة في الشرق الأقصى.
وقال: «نحن نعرف أن الوضع في مجال الطاقة يستقر بشكل عام، ولكن هناك العديد من القضايا التي تتطلب اهتماماً خاصاً، على سبيل المثال، نواجه نقصاً في الغاز، ولا توجد لدينا اتصالات بين مختلف مكونات البنية التحتية للطاقة، ولا بد من تطوير الاقتصاد الشبكي في بلادنا»، وفقا لوكالة «تاس» الروسية للأنباء.
وأضاف بوتين: «وفي الوقت نفسه، عندنا كميات كبيرة من الفحم من مختلف الأنواع التي تكفي لمدة ألف عام تقريباً، يمكن استخدامه بشكل أكثر فعالية وبمزيد من الاستفادة بما يتوافق مع جميع المتطلبات البيئية».
ووقع الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين الشهر الماضي مرسوما قد يسمح للمستثمرين الأجانب، وجاء توقيع المرسوم في اليوم الذي التقى فيه بوتين مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في ألاسكا لحضور قمة كانت فرص الاستثمار والتعاون التجاري على جدول أعمالها، إلى جانب المحادثات الرامية إلى إحلال السلام في أوكرانيا.

During a presentation on the development of the Far Eastern regions held as part of the Russian Eastern Economic Forum, Putin indicated that he would hold a meeting later today regarding the development of the energy sector in the Far East.
He said, "We know that the situation in the energy sector is generally stabilizing, but there are many issues that require special attention. For example, we are facing a gas shortage, and we do not have connections between the various components of the energy infrastructure. We must develop the network economy in our country," according to the Russian news agency TASS.
Putin added, "At the same time, we have large quantities of coal of various types that are sufficient for about a thousand years, and it can be used more effectively and with greater benefit in accordance with all environmental requirements."
