أصدرت محكمة الجنايات الكويتية حكماً قضائياً جديداً، وضع حداً لواحد من أكثر الملفات إثارة للجدل على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، بعد إدانة الناشط سلمان الخالدي في قضية مرتبطة بـ«الإساءة للذات الأميرية».
5 سنوات وإبعاد عن البلاد
وقضت دائرة أمن الدولة بحبس الخالدي لمدة 5 سنوات مع الشغل والنفاذ، لكن المفاجأة التي توقف عندها المتابعون كانت في الشق الثاني من الحكم، وهو الأمر الجديد بإبعاده عن البلاد فور انتهاء مدة عقوبته. وجاء هذا القرار على خلفية منشورات عبر منصة «إكس» (تويتر سابقاً)، اعتبرتها المحكمة تجاوزاً للخطوط الحمراء ومساساً بأمن الدولة.
ولم يكن الخالدي الوحيد في قفص الاتهام، إذ شمل الحكم متهماً آخر قُضي بحبسه سنتان، مع وقف تنفيذ العقوبة مؤقتاً بكفالة قدرها ألف دينار. وأعادت هذه الأحكام إلى الواجهة النقاش المحتدم حول «الفضاء الرقمي» في الكويت، وكيف يمكن لتغريدة أن تتحول من «ترند» عابر إلى قضية جنائية كبرى داخل أروقة محاكم أمن الدولة.
ويُعرف سلمان الخالدي بنشاطه السياسي المثير للجدل، ويأتي الحكم في إطار سلسلة أحكام طاولت تجاوزاته، وهو ما جعل الحكم يحظى بتفاعل واسع مع الحكم الذي ينظم النشر الإلكتروني في الكويت.
The Kuwaiti Criminal Court has issued a new judicial ruling, putting an end to one of the most controversial cases on social media platforms, following the conviction of activist Salman Al-Khaldi in a case related to "insulting the royal authority."
5 Years and Deportation from the Country
The State Security Court sentenced Al-Khaldi to 5 years in prison with hard labor, but the surprise that caught the attention of observers was the second part of the ruling, which is the new order for his deportation from the country immediately after serving his sentence. This decision came in light of posts made on the "X" platform (formerly Twitter), which the court deemed as crossing red lines and a threat to state security.
Al-Khaldi was not the only one in the dock, as the ruling also included another defendant who was sentenced to two years in prison, with the execution of the sentence temporarily suspended on a bail of 1,000 dinars. These rulings have brought back to the forefront the heated debate about the "digital space" in Kuwait, and how a tweet can transform from a fleeting "trend" into a major criminal case within the halls of state security courts.
Salman Al-Khaldi is known for his controversial political activism, and the ruling comes as part of a series of judgments addressing his transgressions, which has led to widespread engagement with the ruling that regulates electronic publishing in Kuwait.
