قال الرئيس التنفيذي لجمعية مصنعي وتجار السيارات في بريطانيا مايك هاويس: «إن إنتاج السيارات ارتفع في بريطانيا للشهر الثاني على التوالي، لكنه أشار إلى أن القطاع يمر بمرحلة مضطربة، في ظل ضعف ثقة المستهلك، وتقلب تدفقات التجارة».
وأظهرت بيانات الجمعية اليوم (الخميس) ارتفاع إنتاج السيارات في المملكة المتحدة بنسبة 5.6% في يوليو ليصل إلى 69.13 ألف وحدة، بينما انخفض إجمالي إنتاج المركبات التجارية بنسبة 10.8% ليصل إلى 72 ألف وحدة.
ودعا «هاويس» إلى تحسين تنفيذ الاستراتيجيات الحكومية لدعم النمو في هذا القطاع، مشيرًا إلى توقعات بعودة إنتاج المركبات الخفيفة إلى النمو في عام 2026 مع زيادة متوقعة قدرها 6.4% ليصل إلى 803 آلاف وحدة.
وعلى الرغم من توقيع اتفاقية التجارة بين الولايات المتحدة والمملكة المتحدة في يونيو، لا تزال الرسوم الجمركية تُعرقل استراتيجيات التصدير، في وقت تظل فيه السوق الأمريكية أكبر سوق خارجية للسيارات البريطانية.

The CEO of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in Britain, Mike Hawes, said: “Car production in Britain has increased for the second consecutive month, but he noted that the sector is going through a turbulent phase, amid weak consumer confidence and fluctuating trade flows.”
Data from the association showed today (Thursday) that car production in the United Kingdom rose by 5.6% in July to reach 69,130 units, while total production of commercial vehicles fell by 10.8% to 72,000 units.
Hawes called for improved implementation of government strategies to support growth in this sector, pointing to forecasts of a return to growth in light vehicle production in 2026 with an expected increase of 6.4% to reach 803,000 units.
Despite the signing of a trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom in June, tariffs continue to hinder export strategies, while the U.S. market remains the largest foreign market for British cars.
