ذكر الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، في منشور على منصته «تروث سوشيال»، أن الولايات المتحدة لن توافق على مشاريع الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح التي تضر بالأراضي الزراعية، مدعياً أنها ترفع أسعار الكهرباء، في أحدث هجوم له على مصادر الطاقة المتجددة.
وجاء هذا المنشور بعد يوم من إعلان وزارة الزراعة الأمريكية إنهاء برامج الدعم المالي للطاقة النظيفة في الأراضي الزراعية المنتجة، في خطوة تشكل تحدياً للمزارعين الذين اعتمدوا على الحوافز الفيدرالية لتنويع مصادر دخلهم في ظل انخفاض أسعار المحاصيل.
وأوضح ترمب في منشوره: «أي ولاية اعتمدت على طواحين الهواء والطاقة الشمسية لتوليد الطاقة تشهد زيادات قياسية في تكاليف الكهرباء والطاقة، إنها خدعة القرن، لن نوافق على مشروعات طاقة الرياح أو الطاقة الشمسية التي تدمر الأراضي الزراعية».
وبالفعل ارتفعت أسعار الكهرباء في العام الماضي، لكن الخبراء يرجعون ذلك لعوامل منها زيادة الطلب من مراكز البيانات ولأغراض التصنيع بعد سنوات من النمو المستقر نسبياً.
أما عن أسعار الأراضي الزراعية، فارتفعت لمستويات قياسية لعدة عوامل منها ارتفاع الطلب على الاستخدامات الصناعية بما يشمل الطاقة، ورغم ذلك فإن تلك المشاريع لا تمثل سوى مساحة ضئيلة من الأراضي الزراعية في الولايات المتحدة.
